THe colour scheme really does suggest a volcanic landscape, the embers almost appear like gold petals.....

it seems you like to have a circular feel to your creature illustrations. kinda reminds me of your "foxfire", but upside down almost.

Oooo... I love seeing the flame through his belly, up into his neck and out into the air! Such an awesome effect for the creature! Totally digging the jaw structure as well, makes him look a lot less... noble, I suppose (figuring all we get to see are very typical European/oriental style dragons around here)?
