“Here for the job posting like all the others. I know, I know.”
“Well actually, sir-“
“In it for all the fame and glory.”

“You kids are all the same with your egos and-“
“SIR! That is incredibly presumptuous! I was simply on your doorstep to inquire about the clashing patrol times in my most recent schedule!”
“Oh...” Russell finally turned around to give the biped a better look, vague recognition sparking in the depths of his gaze as he stared, “A spite hunter, are you?”
“Yes, sir... I am, sir.” Starlight said with an exasperated sigh as he held out the letter he had received that morning. “You see the way it is set out now, most of the southern Wynsiph border patrol are expected to be in at least two places at once. The most egregious of these being put down four times on the list simultaneously, see?”
Russell narrowed his eyes at the sheet of paper as each mistake was pointed out to him. He seemed tired... incredibly tired.
“Sir...” the biped probed, bracing himself for the quad to lash back at him. “When was the last time you slept? Cleaned? Cared for yourself?” The smell in here was horrendous, made only worse by the summer heat.
“What are you? My mother?! Who the hell do you think you are, talking to me like that?! Do you think I have the damn time for washing and sleeping when there are so many criminals to keep track of? So much paperwork? Why else do you think I’d have posted that call to action? Just because I felt I needed a maid or some rattledung?!”
“I’ll do it today, for free.”
“You what?”
“Point to whatever you need tidied, cleaned, organised. I’ll do it for free, sir. But only if you take a good long nap while I work through it, sir.”
Russell seemed to pause for a moment, contemplating what had just been told to him. Anything organised just for the cost of a nap he so desperately needed anyway? Was he trying to pull the wool over his eyes? Some criminal lackey sent to lull him into a false sense of security while he released the prisoners and destroyed documents? No. Looking into this wyngro’s deep orange eyes there was not a single hint of anything aside from genuine concern... Besides, he had already flashed his official badge and those can’t be faked easily. Especially not in this neck of the woods.
“... Alright. You can start with fixing that error in the schedules you so graciously pointed out.”
