History:
His early teen years consisted of mostly allowing others to walk over him after being beaten down over and over again for being different from his peers. He didn't exactly mix with the right people back then, with them often finding amusement out of his inability to speak and gestures of annoyance - mostly consisting of snorts and wild arm movements.
He would often end up at the butt of the joke but would eventually learn that it was easier just to do what they told him to - be it for better or worse.

After leaving school, he could have quite easily stayed at home for his entire life but his parents decided it was high time he fledged the nest, so to speak. He didn't take it well internally but didn't want them to worry about him (Mum because she'd drag him back to being her little broken dolly and Dad because he'd never hear the end of it from Mum after being the one to put the idea in her head) so he bottled it up, took the next train and never looked back.
