π: 0 β©: 1
Askapart In reply to Sonicbeanz [2009-04-08 08:49:02 +0000 UTC]
no, it's Circassian my friend
and the main reason i did this piece because Cricassians were slaughtered by Russians...
you may find some letters similar to russian letters but it's completely a different alphabet
much love

you have to know the Circassian language
Circassian language has its own typography and alphabet, but since Circassia is a former USSR country they changed the typography of the alphabet to Cyrillic and it's being used till this day
Cyrillic typo but different sounding of the letters

For your information, silocult asked whether the !typography! is Russian, not what the alphabet tells.
It's Cyrillic, to be precise.
Bilgin olsun, silocult orada yazΔ±lanlarΔ±n deΔil tipografinin RusΓ§a olup olmadΔ±ΔΔ±nΔ± sordu.
Daha doΔru olmak gerekirse, Kiril alfabesiyle yazΔ±lmΔ±ΕtΔ±r.

~Oxford Dictionary
Typography:
*the art or process of setting and arranging types and printing from them.
*the style and appearance of printed matter.
So, how come a typography is not a subset to an alphabet ? I guess you're confusing with the languages used in that. The alphabet is Cyrillic, so has to be the typography. Whatever written there may be Circassian. The meaning? Circassian. The instrument used? Cyrillic alphabet and typography.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
(I can understand your feelings towards anything "Russian", btw)

I'm totally with you,
all i'm saying that if the typography is Cyrillic, it doesn't have to be Russian language... the typography written there in Cyrillic alphabets but Circassian language so they don't have meaning in Russian language...
sorry if i didn't explain the defference or confused the typography with alphabet
again i'm totllay with what you're saying cause that's wat's right..
thank you again for pionting things out and correcting my lousy explaining of CYRILLIC RUSSIAN CIRCASSIAN thing
