Heh, my family buys both soy, rice, and cow's milk cuz my Mom and both brothers are either lactose intolerant or allergic. Heh, lucky for me I'm only allergic to tree nuts.
And I think they make both soy and rice milk with the protein from the plants. Soy is a type of plant, it's what they make tofu and... um... I can't think of anything else... I'll have to ask my parents, they'd probably know how they make it. All I know is that both are vegan.
I personally don't like the taste of either, but you might like them, I'm not sure. I know my brother loves it.

Rice milk makes more sense than evaporated milk.
Apparently, you can get milk from seeds, grain, plants, various animals, and a lot of other things. Its insane how many different types of milk there are! Some of them sound nasty.
