Description
One of my entries for the Pasozyot Animal Contest.

These bois are Jawlings.
Zipper mouths hide sharp teeth and the shape of their body was was based on eels/leeches.
Their eye is able to be removed from the body about 5 feet before the body goes limp and unmoving. 48 hours without their host will result in the Jawling's death.

The eye is most commonly seen in the eye socket of their bodies however they can remove it (as seen in the photo) while hunting as opening their mouth wide hinders their vision.

Trait tiers are consistent with Pasozyot traits minus the body modifications. (Example: crystals, goop, slime, spines, fur, bone spikes and other body modifications are seen in Jawlings)

Jawlings are carnivores and do eat smaller beings that reside in their habitat. They do make decent pets for Pasozyots as long as they are fed regularly or you might lose a hand.

The eye is the soul of their being and can move around on its own. If the eye is separated from their body and they do return to their host, the host, when in range of the eye (about 5 feet) will grab the eye with its long body and use its legs to wiggle run from danger. A Jawling will often attempt to intimidate a predator by hissing and communicate to other Jawlings by chirping, chittering and yipping.
