Been a while since I did a digital piece, another species and other characters.
This is Lin Da Wang (林大王), a Giant Panda from mainland People's Republic of Zhongia, or the Qing Empire back during his birth. He is a martial arts master in the thaumaturgic fields within the Magicians League. During the final years of the last Zhongese dynasty, as a young cub, he was inducted into a local martial arts club where he gained great prestige. During this time he also when into the study of arcanic arts, which brought him to the attention of the Magicians League. At the age of 56, he joined the Magicians League and within 4 years, became the head of the Zhongese branch of the Magicians League. During the Second Sino-Nihonian War, the Zhongese Branch of the Magicians League was forced into hiding from the invasion, however, when the war was over and the Zhongese Civil War resumed, his Magicians League was relocated and re-established in the English Colony city of Hongport. Decades later, during the beginning of the Great Spring, he re-established the headquarters of the Zhongese Branch back in mainland Zhongia, the now People’s Republic of Zhongia. He would go one to step down as League head and take a important role in the Arcanian Ministry division of the Magicians League where he would eventually induct Somber and still remains in Arcanian Ministry.

Is the alternate naming like Zhongese, Nihonian and Arcanian made to somehow add flavor and maybe also attempt to slip past censorship??

And no the alternate naming is not due to censorship, but instead because these nations are almost identical to the real ones, Zhongia China, Nihon Japan, Molovia The US, and arcanians are not a nationality but a people with aspectal based abilities (ie, similar to benders in avatar). That names are due to them being the same mostly historically, but due to the multi species thing, and the small role of magic, that politics are somewhat different, and in the case of Molovia (United States), exaggerated to one avoid getting involved in real politics, and also to have a more open political state to test many of the concepts
