Description
It was a fleeting idea, but it kept Chance busy for the last several days. Jake wasn't entirely sure where Chance was going with this, they did agree to make something out of the scraps found in the yard, but Chance decided he wanted to do some solo work.A jet, Jake thought. It must be a jet, Chance wouldn't pilot just any kind of aircraft and it had to be unique to them. Until Chance came up with a rough idea it was up to Jake to configure everything else - it was up to him to make the blueprints for the hangar.
Chance's main concerns were the parts that would make up the jet, the overall design would have to be completely different from an Enforcer's. Problem is, they were going to be using Enforcer materials dumped at the scrapyard. Chance (and Jake) didn't want to risk their identities being associated with the Enforcers. It wasn't just a matter of pride, but if anyone found out it was the two mechanics at the scrapyard who already had a debt to the city that would take several lifetimes to pay...
The parts would be fixed, welded together and repainted of course. Chance knew from experience that military vehicles were top-notch. He had made it his personal goal to better his own jet, nothing would be able to out-fly it.
And above all, his jet wouldn't crash into buildings. It has to be perfect.
Granted, he knew with a smug look on his face, he knew he had it in him to make the greatest jet ever. He was a great flyer and great flyers needed great jets.
The idea of having his own excited him now more than ever. It would be a dream come true to a ten-year-old Chance Furlong who had ran around his parents' living room with a toy plane and read comics on super heroes.
Yeah, they would be super heroes. The fact that vigilantism was illegal and hardly considered heroic by the authorities didn't deter him, after all, the authorities (aka Commander Feral) sent his old jet spiraling into Enforcers HQ. He and Jake were lucky to be alive and had a debt placed unfairly on them, giving them the impression it might have been better if they hadn't walked away from the wreckage.
Chance leaned back against the chair, the naked light bulb over the table brought out the purest yellow of his fur. He twirled the pencil in his deft fingers.
It was a lot of pressure he put on himself, but he would manage. Managing was all he and Jake could do now.

Nicely done! It's rare that people draw Chance/T-Bone in his more designer/intellectual side. He is much more than many fans give him credit for and you expressed this well here.

Thank you! I never like to settle for things at face value and plus the Turbokat is Chance's "baby", when Razor loses faith and decides they should eject Tbone is the one who likes to give the Turbokat sentient and most of the time it pulls through. That's ingenuity even if it is a cartoon, gotta read between the lines don't we?

Wow...just, WOW. This is perfect in my opinion Aspen, it fits into their past canonically, and it shows part of how the TurboKat came to be--Chance did great on the design in the end. X3
Also, the wording was absolutely wonderful, it all rolled off the tongue naturally, and it felt right--wonderful piece of work, both in the drawing, and the story that goes with it. ^W^

You're welcome, I really enjoyed the writing--I have an avid imagination, so I can envision things really well whenever I read.
If I can envision it and it makes sense, it's the best~
...Huh, maybe I should try that for my writing stuff, and see how it works out. XD

Some of the writing didn't even come to me till I had a picture to go with it, the part where Chance is smug....yeah, that wasn't there originally till I painted if looking smug. ^^

It's okay, I didn't think it was a stupid question--so, I'll answer it if you don't mind.
I've never heard of it, but I might be interested in giving it a read. How close did it stick to the characters themselves?
And yeah, he is--I've always thought of him as a big kitten in the sense how he still really enjoys comics and games. Like me. XD
Just goes to show that you're never too old for what you love~
I've had the DVD since Christmas the year before last, but I haven't been watching it lately--mainly since I'm worried it'd drive my brother nuts. ^ ^;

No, as far as I know, the Tremblay brothers made them exclusively for the show--but a book about them would get an instant buy from me if they wrote one. <3
Sounds neat though, where exactly can I find that story?
Yep, I begged Mom to get it for me for Christmas that same year. XD
Hehe, I might some time if he can't think of anything to watch--I think I sometimes drive him crazy over my SK obsession. ^ ^;
