Description My attempt at a landscape photo. I drove country roads for nearly 75 miles and took 1 picture and this is it. I didn't even get out of the car, lol. Surprisingly the photo is technically unedited and extracted from RAW with colours adjusted to what you see. The actual sky was a monotonous grey colour and the ground was a not-so-interesting shade of brown. I was tempted to make the ground green and replace the sky with something cool but I found this shade of pink to be relatively decent.

Photo taken: Somewhere south of Cleveland a little ways out of Medina County near Elyria

I love the warm pink sky ... it gives the photo a lovely antique feel. Good job

ai I don't know what to think of this one I like the photo itself but a pink sky? maybe a little too much. maybe just a little bit of pink. But hey!! that's what I think

Well the pink looks as the sky does on a day when many tornadoes have been in the area from my experience. You turn on the News and they have tornado warnings on and you go and look outside and you see a pinkish/grey sky and a lot of wind and intermittent rain patting the windows every few minutes. I really just don't like the photo. The transitioning between the ground and pink I think are terrible and I really did a poor job.

Hummmm.... I think your whole 'editing-is-bad-cause-it's-unrepresentat ive-of-reality' argument is a little flawed Cause like.. this shot, unedited yes, but .. you said the sky was grey in real life and it's pink here? I dunno.

I take film to the store to be developed. I tell the guy to work a darkroom trick on the photo to make the sky pink instead of grey... Is that editing?

It's not an accurate representation of reality The sky is grey, not pink. It would be the same for me to take that shot on a digital camera and put a pink tint on it in photoshop- sortof digital darkroom both produce the same effect, both are inaccurate representations of reality, but why is one worse than the other?

Its not the same because you're doing it ex post facto. I'm doing it while the photo is in development.

There's no development process in digital, so does that mean you cannot alter the photo at all?
We're running around in circles

Thanks. I didn't do such a good job with the ground - I know. Perhaps I'll go back and fix it. I really wasn't too excited about the shot but decided to submit it anyhow.
