Brightest star in the sky, the face of Equestria. A position of great responsibility, requiring great strength.

Similar to my previous Square Portrait of Celestia, Sol for the Celestial , I made a year ago. But this time I wanted more emotion. I could use the previous as reference for shading, so I could focus on that.

Out of all the princesses, Celestia has always grabbed my attention the most, for the position she is in, but also seemingly does so well with a lot of strength and care. With at least a thousand years being the face of the entirety of Equestria, she is still such a kind ruler to all. Still being down to earth, to have light-heartedness when possible, but still rules with a powerful voice when needed.

Even though Luna has returned to her side, to try and take some burdens, in the end it's still very much Celestia who's the one that every pony else looks up to. Who needs to show strength, but also shows compassion and kindness. Something I imagine can be a great burden too. To be there for her subjects and their well-being. Manoeuvring the complexities of society, keeping everypony happy.

She may be an Alicorn, a Celestial being, one who's lived for a thousand years, but within she's also still just a pony like any pony else.

For all that, she's not just at the top of Equestria, but also in my list of Princesses.

This piece, much like my previous square portraits, was made on a single layer. The only thing not, was basically my signature, hehe.
