Description
Experimental piece. This kind of perspective I've often sketched out but never really worked out. Got to start somewhere getting familiar with this. Tough one but fun.Although I did keep a static pose... thought about putting more stuff in the background as well, as reference, but heh, maybe lazy or too much work to get it in at this point.
Hopefully this will still suffice to get the idea across
Also, Anthro Twi for once I guess hehe.
I feel like I have more to type, but I'll leave it at this then I guess.
Edit: Ah yes, the line of staying fairly rough with the brushes, not cleaning up too much. Although I kinda want to do a high detail piece soon again. As in somewhere this month at least starting one
Approx Time: 7-8 hours

Amazing sense of perspective! It's not quite my favorite style, but that's just personal taste and your drawing is still amazing. As far as feedback, I'd make her mane less blurry so the focus is more on Twilight, but it's pretty clear that this was just perspective practice. Her hooves also don't quite match the semi-realism that the rest of the drawing has. I really love the texture of the fur and the grass, and the picture would look much better if that attention to detail were applied to her mane as well. Overall, though, this was a very interesting angle to see. I'm surprised it didn't take longer than it did, and the WIP pic shows your true dedication to art. Fantastic picture – keep working at it!

Talk about vertigo! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="20" height="19" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="233" title="Shocked"/> For an experimental piece with perspective, I'd say this is an A-class example. I feel you did a great job in capturing the curvature of the globe, in this; from Twilight's location, the height really gives you a near-omniscient view of the world below, and though the clouds and distance make things hazy, the view is still incredible.
The other thing I enjoy about this is the wind effect of the blades of grass e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title="

That said, I wonder if Twilight's mane (especially the long part in the back) would really stay that trim and set, as opposed to wind-blown and scattered, at that kind of height, with that kind of wind. That'd be something I'd say could have been done differently, as I'd liked to have seen that. The wind blown mane effect can be difficult to do at times, but it's almost always well-worth it in pieces like this.
A lot of this may seem a little redundant, as you did say this is an experimental piece and you did keep a static pose, but I do feel it important to keep in mind for the future all the same, and wanted to mention it regardless e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

Altogether, for what it's trying to accomplish, it's a very well-done art piece. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback and ideas. I'd say it's safe to say that Twilight herself could've been the main improvement point indeed, like what you mentioned about the mane.
Getting some more dynamic action throughout Twilight rather than just the grass.
At one point I did quickly sketch out a possibility for the tail and mane to sweep a bit more, but then chickened out because I probably also kept to much of the original shape hehe.
Still a good starting point into exploring these perspectives, got a lot of good information out if it as well.

It's an astounding piece, regardless But yeah, should you tackle the height + wind effect ever again in the future, it'll be cool to see some manes flyin'

It looks like she's prepping herself for flight.

More like she is now realising that she is now superior than the rest of Equestria... so she is lonely up there...

If you focus on the cliff face, it doesn't appear nearly as tall as the proportions of the ground would suggest, even accounting for the exaggerated perspective. Almost looks like she's standing five feet up on a scale toy set. And Twilight's snout looks really weird to me, lol.
I still love the angle! Her chest looks fluffy~

Yea the cliff height bothered me, tried to fix it several times but couldn't seem to get it fixed completely, would've probably needed more reference points or just time. I guess the time part indeed might also count for Twilight herself, stuck closely to the first sketch.
Still, yay for fluffiness being noticed

Incredible use of perspective! Loving the detail in the texture of the fur and grass too.

Quite an interesting shot. A very unusual perspective.
Nicely done!

That's a tricky angle to pull off. I tried something along those lines for my drawing finals, but ended up with something totally different
I think you executed it very well, good job!

Don't blame me, but I don't like it this time. It doesn't even remind me of my favourite character.

Sorry to hear that, but still thanks for sharing.
Perhaps I could've focused a bit more on Twilight, try out some different looks. I focused quite a bit on the angle and perspective as a first priority

почему ты делаешь пропорции пони такими, как будто пони под 90 лет?
why are you doing such proportions pony as if the pony under 90 years old?

When it comes to anthro ponies my proportions can be a bit different every time, depending on what I feel like making or seems best for the time.

no offence but i can not be bother trying to expand my word so that they match the 100 word minimum for the critique but i love it another great piece and only thing would be that her front legs (arms if they be) are a little bit skinny, love it none the less

No offence taken at all!
I can see how the arms could be a bit too thin, they seem slightly thinner than the legs, yet they are closer to the camera and thus would be even thinner if directly next to each other perhaps. I guess a slight buff wouldn't have hurt here
