Might not have had an episode this Saturday, but that doesn't mean I can't do episode art right?!Since I'm planning on covering a bunch of the finale (during the Saturday Livestreams), I thought it would be nice to make that what I see a lot and I didn't do last week myself.
I've also seen several folks already expecting a battle scene from me eventually and I guess here it is! Hope I didn't disappoint.
This one was fun to do as always, creating a low camera large scale character. Brings me back to the Timberwolf Emperor I made almost a year ago already. Done plenty other large beasts as well though.
Anyhow, hope y'all enjoy and bathe in the season 4 aftermath. We can fill up this empty time!
PS: I'll put together the time lapse video for this tomorrow or something, need to get those going again.

Edit: Added a 1440p version. I don't know how common it's yet, but if there's enough interest I'll see to saving that size a bit more over time perhaps.

This turned out really nice. You did an amazing job on Twilight here. Still, you kinda ended up hiding her horn behind her mane. But that's not a big deal though.

Pretty much everything MyLittleOreo said. I'm tired of this scene getting so much more attention than Spike's spectacular triumph. I think you're the only artist who's recreated both, rather than just this one.
That's not to say this isn't a worthy piece of work, of course! The fiery background makes it look like the two of them have razed all of Equestria in their battle, turning it into a dystopian world. And that angle on Tirek? David and Goliath.

That's probably your best yet. The most clear and detailed, with the most showlike yet also the most realistic pony completely free of the "kinda alien" look your older pieces have, and a gorgeously shaped one too (Twibutt <3<3<3. And the wings... and the tail.. and the hair... too much love.), as well as the best perspective use and effects. The light sources are completely new and very, very welcome; you did lighting like a total boss here. Great job, AM.

Very nice, with your most recent art works you have really improved. One of my fav pieces from you yet ( not because the booty).
One thing that I feel could be improved is tireks fore hoof, it seems a little too close to Twi's head. (Maybe because Twi's horn is a little light source and the highlight it casts in his hoof is a little too big. Not too sure.)

See, the downside of owning a notebook with a high-res screen is that as epic as this picture is it's hard to be immersed in the action when said image won't fill my display. Great job though!

That's actually an interesting point you made. I haven't looked into the market at the moment but I do feel like 1440p is soon becoming a next step, or it's already working to that. and then the "4k" being pushed as well.
I don't know if 1440p is what you have, but I've gone and saved this at that size.

If I know more folks might be interested I'll have to look into including a larger version more often. Although for now I'll probably mainly stick with the usual 1080p

Saved! Thank you sir for your consideration. It seems to me that 1440p is typically used as a high-res tablet resolution and does appear in a few notebooks. However, in my case (and I think this is becoming a common standard among notebooks) I'm working with 1800p. Again Thanks!

I do think it might be slightly unfair to put a lot of weight on the similarities between the 2 pieces. It's mostly just because they're based on the same source, the battle scene although even then 2 seperate moments (or well, mine isn't exactly what happened in-show)
That said, I do find it awesome to see all the different interpretations from the same scene by different artists either way, some more alike then others and I think there's enough room for all of it.

Pretty awesome, even though I'm kinda fed up with this scene by this point. There's too damned much fanart for it in proportion to Spike's shining moment in "Equestria Games"...kinda like the ridiculous imbalance between Saddle Rager/Flutterbat pics and the far more interesting possibilities that Hum Drum yielded.

I am happy with, like you mentioned, the Spike attention previously. Admittedly I've also contributed to Flutterbat and such XD

Geez this is something else, definitely Shadow of Colossus style. The intensity of it all, smashing rocks, Magic ready to fire, and the tears in Twilight's eyes just give this a huge impact on the weight of the fight.

This is awesome! I would have loved to see them incorporate Tirek's size more, aside from throwing a mountain and such. It would have been cool to see him flatten things by stepping on them, or have him try to stomp on Twi. But whatever, it was cool as it was.

...My Celestia. This is... this... is... unparalleled. Honestly, I know you're a fantastic artist, but... GAH! This is freakin' epic! And I don't use that word, like, ever! The perspective is breathtaking and seriously gives any viewer an incredible view to look upon the imposing force before Twilight as she stands against a behemoth intent to annihilate absolutely everything the ponies of Equestria hold dear. The epicosity of this art is so intense. Even small aspects such as Twilight's tears give this drawing an outstanding impact, making this dire situation more than just a battle. It's so unbelievably easy to feel an atmosphere of hopelessness emanating from within this piece as it seems all of Equestria is ready to fall before Tirek's reign. Props to you, Monkey; this is one heckuva meritorious masterpiece.

My daily livestreams have been starting relatively late. Like 1 after midnight my own time lol. I've been having some trouble getting that earlier but I do want to do so though.
The earliest day for me is Saturday (2000 UTC), which together with Sunday is the first I'm looking into starting earlier and longer.
It's hard to find a good balance for the different timezones even depending on the day but I would very much like everyone to have a chance to join in, which I'd also really enjoy to see, myself.
