I kind of felt like showing off a few work in progress pictures of the Party for You! peice I did.

Normally I would draw these on paper first and then outline them neatly on photoshop but the program was already open and I wanted to draw it soo yeah, just replace the photoshop sketches with pencil sketches and you'll get my regular way of drawing.

Rough Sketches: These are really messy and done quickly, so I can get the general idea of how the final peice will look and feel.

Sketches: A quick rough sketch thrown on top of the previous sketch but includes more details and closer to the final.

Clean Lineart: Outlined the previous sketch in clean lines ready to be coloured or see if I've made any mistakes and go back and fix them.
Pt2: Add chair.

Colouring: I start with flat colours and fill in all the blocks of colour.

Shading: Decide where a lightsource is and colour in shadows accordingly.

Background: Decide that you'll never be any good at backgrounds no matter how hard you try and crawl up under your table, where you have placed a planket just for this occasion. (I'm not lying, there really is a planket under my table, though I use it more to put my feet on because theres no carpet there.)
