I've been having a rough week (one of my favourite pets died) and stress from class but I dunno guys I think I'm getting better. I'm trying to not wallow in my problems.So I'm posting some art I made awhile ago, trying to figure out how I want to draw these guys. (The AppleJack/Raoul design was my first pass so it will probs change a bit).

(If you're curious about the pet it was my tosakin goldfish Midas (yeah yeah people will probs think I'm stupid for crying over a goldfish but that's your problem not mine, he was big and beautiful with the prettiest tail and people on here don't know but I'm actually a fish fanatic and a person who deeply cares about all her pets))

sorry about your fish. I have a community tank and my platys finally had babies and I was so happy but now only 5 are left and growing. I suspect another fish ate some and it made me cry a bit too. I hope you will be able to get another one and love it as much!

I think it would have been rather amusing to have Rarity as the Ghost...you know, the one that cares the most for her apperance having a ruined face.
Unfrtunately, that is where my knowledge of this ends...closest I have ever been to read it is one of Terry Prattcher's books.

Here's my guess on the songs (since I love the Soundtrack), Think of Me, Phantom of the Opera (obviously), Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, The Point of No Return, Down Once More/Track Down this Murderer.
Granted the only soundtrack I have is the Movie version from back in 2004.Β What version will ya'll be using?

I am planning to make this anΒ animatic series like CoMC. (but it won't be anytime soon with my schedule and I already have plans for the animatic set that I'm doing after CoMC)

It's always heartbreaking to see your pets pass away, and I see nothing wrongΒ with mourning over your little fish friend. My doggo-pet has passed away a few months earlier, so I completely understand how you feel, especially when your fish friend was very close to you. Take all the time you need to get better, but just know that your fish will continue to live on in your heart, as long as you remember him and all the great time you had together.
As for the artwork, man it's been a long time since you drew musical-related sketches, isn't it?
I actually expected you to pick AJ for Raoul's role, just had no idea what design you might pick for him, and even if you're not that satisfied with the result I think it looks pretty good! Probably a bit too simple for Raoul's character, but that even kinda charming in some way! I also really like the brown muzzle addition, makes him look a bit more unique than just AJ or just Danglars from your CoMC animatics.Β
Anyway, I'm very eager to see how you will develop those characters and their designs in the future!^^

I think you might be right with the "simple" comment, he doesn't stand out too much next to Phantom does he? He needs to have a stronger presence on screen so thanks. The only traits that I'm pretty set on are his eye brows and the muzzle so I'm glad you liked it 
I feel like the hair is close but not just right yet so I'll be exploring that sometime and the clothes definitely need to be revisited.
