Description ...yeah.

Explanation: Me and have been discussing WESTERN SONIC THINGS recently, and somehow the concept of Sonic owning a horse came up. Aside from my thoughts that Sonic wouldn't really be the type to own a horse (since he could probably outpace them on foot :/), it struck me that Mobians are really short (the only canonical height I've seen for Sonic, from multiple sources, puts him at about 3'3") so failing a really well-aimed running jump they wouldn't be able to get on and off a normal horse really easily. But horses are still convenient ways of getting around, especially in a Western, and the issue could be circumvented if they just rode something shorter. Then the image of Antoine riding a pony tickled my sense of humor and I needed to draw it.

A Mobian horse is called a pasha. To Mobians they are to scale. The large ones are for overlanders, and are, too scale.

What canon does that come from?

I saw it in the comic book where Sally marries Anti-Atione. Also, I saw Julie-su riding one I think Knuckles the Echidna comic.(looked a little like Ukla's horse in Thundar the Barbarian.Don't ask me what writer I don't keep up or a clue about cannon!)
There is also a charming fanfic, literature serial, floating around here on da starring Cream and Cris where the horses were called pasha's.
Cris the lone survivor of over lander freedom fighter across the forbidden zone, returning Cream(Cream the home-lorn waif) from an abandoned settlement, seeking revenge upon Robotnik,Eggman,Reggbomtanik...whatever, meeting wolf pack and freedom fighters.

Here we go. This is the one.

You'll have to find the pasha's yourself, some chapters hence couple chapters behind. With the wolf pack and then before at the dead city, I think.

Did you find it? I left off where Vanilla was building a chair for Chris because, well overlanders are big, he broke a Mobian sized one while settling in Knothole.

I just generally like to laugh at the height difference between humans and Mobians. Sacrificing some political correctness for the sake of being concise, short things are funny.

Short furry things are funny. They can be short, not necessarily funny.

Would you believe the original draft of this drawing was at least half-serious?

When you absolutely need to draw someone making an idiot out of themselves on a short, fuzzy pony, Antoine's the way to go.

...Actually I thought being cavalry fit him because he's got the soldierly uniform and just strikes me as the most knight-like of the group.

Something about animal people riding other animals is somewhat unsettling to me.

Well, if you think about it, from what we've seen of the Sonicverse their society isn't too terribly different from ours, which would necessitate the presence of non-sentient animals. Also Sonic owned a dog in one continuity, so there are normal animals alongside the animal people.

...Though I agree with you that is more than a little awkward.
