A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for TF: CYBERTRON Sideways downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link]From the moment I first saw Noisemaze/Sideways, my first thought was “That thing IS Banzai-Tron.” From the ninja look, to the swords, to the futuristic jet mode (Something my guess is what the Actionmaster Banzai-Tron WOULD have turned into. Prol’ly.), it just seemed like a perfect match. And with Backstop’s “extra bio info” confirming the EXISTANCE of Banzai-Tron as an ancient martial arts teacher in the Cybertron universe, it’s perfect. I could easily see the “faction swapping” gimmick fitting in here, as he could be a teacher to both Autobots and Decepticons. Or maybe it there could be a symbol for the two different (cannon) Cybertronian martial arts styles, Crystalocution and Metallikato. Either way, I think this would make an awesome toy, and would fit wonderfully into the Cybertron universe/story line.

Sweeeet.
Just... Plain, simple sweet. I can't think of anything else to say other than I'd buy multiples of this guy, if only to bask in it's g1 goodness. Now, to find a recent mold suitable for a Cybertron Bludgeon to put him up against. *ponders. looks at wave 3 Mini-Cons on desk. Ponders some more*

I've been thinking about a Bludgeon myself...CDF Scattorshot makes a good RiD Bludgeon, but as for a G1 one...it's a hard one. Do you mimic the shell or inner robot? As for the Shell...Sideways again, might match up ok. Wing Saber POSSIBLY, but i'm almost entirely bassing that on JUST the fact that he has swords, heh. CDF Hotshot, with a remolded head, might possibly be as close as you can get to both shell and bot modes. I dunno...dunno if i'll ever figure one out for him, heh.

CD Scattorshot with Pretender shell colors or CD Hot Shot with the inner robot's colors. Can't decide which would be better, tho'. Sideways might be good too with the Pretender shell's colors. Wing Saber on the other hand, I'm not so sure for a candidate (especially with the inner robot colors.) That help any?

How such a badass char never got used for ANYTHING in ANY series is beyond me. I really hope with Backstop's bio, they actually plan SOME kind of Banzai-Tron figure for the Cybertron line. Hell, I'd settle for yet another LoC Starscream repaint. Just SOMETHING.

Near the end of the Marvel TF series, Grimlock got turned into an Action Master... if the series hadn't ended shortly after, I'm sure B-tron and some of the other AMs would have shown up. Most of the 1st season Autobots were revived with Nucleon, so some of the Autobot AMs must have been on the way. I'd have liked to see Jackpot, at least. But, alas.

yeah, i've seen the last half of the g1 comics, and i think at least a couple of am's showed up (I believe Krok was more or less taking 2nd place to bludgeon and playing his "Soundwave"), but unfortunatly, no ass kicking robot samaurai. sigh.
