Description
MOAR AVENGERS.
This time Thor, from Thor as he decides to break the Bifrost and save Jotunheim.I was really tempted to do another Loki piece, because he's just so fun to paint. But, I figured I would pay attention to the actual, ahem, protagonists of the franchise instead of obsessing over the villain.
The details in this piece really pushed me to try new things, which was fun. Although painting his hair was NOT. Also, apologies for the fact that it looks like he has no left eye. Just following in Odin' footsteps, I guess.

This is beautiful, I always hear that hair is always the worst thing so I hope you'll be glad to know that his hair looks fantastic (Th'oreal he's worth it). You caught movement and light very well and it looks like hair instead of a blurred lump as you so often see. Overall this is a wonderful piece and the only critique I can make are tiny things. In my humbled and vastly untalented opinion (grovel, grovel) Mjolnir and Thor's hand are a bit lacking in detail compared to the rest of him. Whilst the focus of the picture is clearly our favourite thunder god and the idea seems to be things get unfocused the further away from Thor you look I think perhaps the hammer/handle and hand could of benefited from maybe a little bit more detail as they are not in relation so far away from Thor as the backdrop of Asgard to be quite so unfocused as they are. The only other thing is as you pointed out the eye. Not much to say as it just doesn't look like he has one but hey who doesn't like pirates right? Pirate Thor now there's an amusing image. I really enjoy your work it's so life like. I am in awe.

I snorted at "Th'oreal," that's the most perfect thing I've ever heard.
I think you're right about the hammer--the reference I had was pretty lacking in that area, so maybe if I can find a better picture I can go back and add more details. That eye is still bothering me! I think I might just go back and add in details that weren't there so it looks less like he's straight-up missing an important part of his face.
