Level Info            : Ironically i started making this map 1 year ago last Halloween. took me one year to finish it i guess! well whatever what you can call finished.
I took some spoilers out of this version so i can put it out to the public along with my other maps. enjoy! see if you can avoid being spooked! Might be a hard map for new players so take it easy or medium difficulty. i have nothing more i want to do with this map. This map is played as Merlijn Oostrum.

Heya, Snowfall! Just wanted to let you know, in case you hadn't seen it, that I played through Spookycut a little while ago and uploaded it to YouTube!

Another fantastic map. It's got less of the detailed interior design seen in Zeta Base, Pipe Dreams, and Neutrino, but it's still very well designed and laid out. The atmosphere was palpably creepy, often thanks to the interior lighting and music choice. You really get an intense sense of dread as you descend deeper into the Pyramid, and it's both quite fun and quite creepy to explore. And, as in the case of many of your other levels, the skybox effect you used is fantastic.

My only complaint regarding this level lay in the overabundance and placement of the screaming ghost (they're called "Lost", I think.) I enjoy how your levels seem to have thematic enemies (Cycloids in Pipe Dreams, machines in Neutrino) but those guys get a little tiresome to fight (mostly because of the scream and "disorientation" effect they cause.) There are many situations where you turn a corner and instantly get attacked by them; additionally, when they're chasing you down in the mazes, it can be very easy to get stunlocked, which is quite annoying. For the most part, however, the combat is still great fun, though it takes a bit more of a backseat to exploration and puzzle solving.

Overall, excellent level. It's quite different in terms of aesthetic design, exploration and combat mechanics when compared to Pipe Dreams and Neutrino (and especially Zeta Base) but it's unique, atmospheric, and enjoyable to play through. You've tackled a lot of different styles of levels, and while I may overall prefer your previous levels to this one, I still enjoyed it quite a bit, and it's got a lot of unique design choices that allow it to stand on its own (treasure collecting, extensive use of the scanner device, etc.) Well done!

Thank you for reviewing my map! = ) I love watching people play my maps and seeing how they do, its nice to see you found some secrets too!
And haha sorry about all the Lost ghosts, i wish i had another scary monster to play with, maybe one that ran faster then the player and jumped at you like in Quake I or something. They are quite freaky and admittedly maybe a bit annoying at times (i had actually replaced a much more scary monster with some lost due to spoilers and stuff), but thankfully they show up as arrows when you view the map. i wanted it to have a very scary atmosphere where you felt anything could come from anywhere i guess. it originally just started out as a silly personal map i made around Halloween. If you play Spookeycut around the Halloween season pumpkins should show up everywhere = ) I'm glad you still enjoyed the map though! i want to do more themes in my maps in the future like you say. so far i am just working on another space one for ep 3 with an interesting twist on the beginning that you will be played as Snowfall. but i want to get away from space stuff for a bit if i do anything after that.
hmm, i do have a map i want to release after episode 3. Because it really has nothing to do with the world of AMC TC at all, and was made purely for fun. It is named ROOMS.map and it is literally a bunch of rooms of different kinds placed evenly together, filled with a massive amount of monsters and guns of different kinds in different rooms. And that's all it is. lol though its pretty long. Its good for just mindless shooting and pushing to the next part on a rainy day. i still need to balance it more though.
