Description
A small painting I did as a part of my concentration series for my senior year of high school. The concentration started out focusing on people with incorporated patterns, but then it turned more into crowd scenes. This isn't much of a crowd, but hey it can be hard to find one sometimes during winter. Without going to DC that is...This is a view from the center stairs of the newly renovated Silver Spring. They call it "Silver Sprung"....jeez what bad taste....

the slogan is on the bottom of the "you are here" maps (next to ulta)(corner of mainstrip and fenton) and on the big white advertisements with jumping people that are on the building on the corner of mainstrip and georgia.

yeah they dont call it silver sprung any more, now they're going with "a good old fashion sensory overload" with a bunch of jumping idiots in front of white back drops.
and are you talking about the ethiopian food place over on fenton? I always walk passed it on the way to MC all the time, and it's customers always seem to give me dirty looks out the window.

I haven't seen that new town slogan. It seems funny that an area would need a slogan.
yes it is the ethiopian place on fenton st. Don't feel bad about the dirty looks. The workers on the first floor, as far as my experience and presumptions go, is that they give kind of dirty looks to anyone that isn't one of their regulars or doesn't speak their language.

it's a really lovely street scene. and something about the dark, muted colors (along with the shape of that lamp pole I think) really gives it a still, old-timey kind of feel. that's some lovely perspective. <;D

Yeah I know what you mean, but try not to think of it like that! People get way too depressed when time goes by trying to convince themselves that they're "old". Treasure the future as well!
