Honor Guards, before the skies shattered. Today, no Dracofae dons such hubris. Once beacons for the deluded now belongs to the echoes of ash.

ideation + process:
After posting the last 3 images of Dracofae, I wasn't completely satisfied (Particularly with the Old Way ) with how I was presenting them visually. I wanted to present more flowy and organic elements along with their sharp and nimble harnesses, similar to the very first Dracofae images or the Yokai image. This one in particular, I wanted to express their former imperialistic aesthetics.

A lot of inspiration from many sources, and one I've taken notes from the artist, Mynki, for saying that you can make better forms and ideas if you at minimum take 3 sources of inspiration for the design/character. For the Dracofae themselves, there are many sources, but with the Old Way, it felt too narrow and hopefully I can remedy that in the future. Along with style and ideas, I also wanted to directly add a new one from the artist Moryo for their awesome anime-fantasy style.
