yeah the original ones are the square shaped.
Well.. depends of what you like... personaly I would prefer them all to be sketch XD! Because of the brush side.

Well... I think they last a long time for sure. I just got 1 refill the first time I got my copics in case it would run dry and stuff. I have then for a year now i think...
And as I saw.. when you get to refill your copics, you only lose 2 marks of the refill bottle content. So 1 refill would refill at least 2 times the same color.

One thing that happened to me while traveling... one copic was open inside my bag. And it painted a whole spot in my bag, that copic stayed open for like 24hrs. When I opened my bag I was like "omg the copic is totally dry" since it wouldnt paint anything, and the brush tip was really messed too. I tryed to pour some water on the tip.. and it still wouldnt work. After a while I went to try to use that copic again and..wow it was working like if nothing happened. And it still have a lot of ink inside it and the brush tip is nice. I cant even tell anymore which of my copics openned inside my bag. I thought this was a REALLY cool thing about it. (since i got a lot of markers problems, since they can open inside your bag or something) though copics wont really open that easily.. i probably didnt close it properly that time.

well, it really depends on what kind of art you want to do, and what kind of colors you want to get or like. Basically you shold pick a Colorless blender (this one is reaaaally usefull to blend colors and avoid layers where you want the color to be homogeneous/uniform). Then you should get skin colors, and some colors for clothes or something like that... and hair... that can change from person to person. I use E000, E00, E01 ,R02 and E11 for the skin. But that really depends of your taste... some people might use 2 markers for all the skin...

and i hear sketch markers are best because they have a paintbrush-like tip, do you agree?

i had been trying to find a marker which allows you to do block uniform colour for ages, thought i had found it, but i now know it's copic markers i need

Each marker costs $5.95 (normal and sketch markers), Ciao markers $3,95 and the Wide Brush type are $6,95. You can buy sets of colors too. Its better to buy a set with 72 copics than 72 individual copics, too.
Oh yeah.. I love sketch markers. Theyre really nice. I think theyre really the best kind of copic markers indeed. The brush-like tip is really nice. It gives a soft stroke.

Well theres 2 ways to block uniform colors. You may soak the copic paper with the colorless blender before aplying the color you want, or you can just do really fast strokes that wont allow the paint to get dry yet. Both techniques are usefull for blending colors too.

Copic Sketch have brush-like nibs, and the standart ones are like normal markers o.o... normal nibs... I prefer copic sketch really XDD.. its soft, nice to paint. I hope you get your copics too ^^ good luck!

lol eh q..pra copics eh BOM vc term uma grande variedade de cada cor XDD.. e eu tenho MTOS.. mas..anda falta varedade de cada cor ><.. (embora seja bom q eles se sobrepoe XDD... dae com a mesma caneta q vc pintou vc pode fazer as sombras XD).

ele nao me matou lol.
(ate aceitou numa boa o gasto q eu dei.. foi ate meio supreeendente XDDDD)

Quanto as cores... Eu sei que é bom ter uma grande variedade... Mas sei la, eu tenho uma caixa com 60 lapis de cor e não me falta nada, não sabia que faria tanta diferença com copics XD
