It´s kinda strange. You made a pic about this without even mentioning the Kingdom of Asturias, whose first uprise in year 722 begun the Reconquista.

I more based it on the song rather than the actual history. It was more, uh, fantasy than historical.
Otherwise I definitely would've included more people since goodness knows how many people were involved. Plus this picture is rather old and I'm considerably more knowledgeable now.

I love Spanish history! Its so complicated though with all of the kingdoms and such. I think its probably clearer I'm fonder of Basque history.

I recommend you (I don´t know if the translation is correct, I read the Spanish version)"The Kingdom of Asturias, the origins of Spanish Nation" (El reino de Asturias. Orígenes de la Nación Española) by Claudio Sánchez-Albornoz, probably one of our best Historians about this topic and Spanish Middle Ages.
I mean, there are many nationalist interests about our History and research is mostly biased (by all parties).
Fortunately we had (and have) good Historians too^^U

I'll look into it! It would probably be a good book for a ride home from college, since I'm so swamped with school work otherwise. Yeah, I've looked into a lot of books and some of them seem really biased. I used to read anything before but now I'm having to look at stuff hesitantly because I'm worried about whether or not things are really true. :\ I'm glad that the book seems fair though! :'D I'm just learning Spanish now so hopefully I'll be able to read books in both languages rather than just English soon.

Sob I'm learning Spanish purely for the sake to learn Basque. I wanted to go straight to Basque, but everyone I know who speaks it is like "HAH NO LEARN SPANISH FIRST". So I'm sitting here all "okay. :C "
