Type of work: Soft Mount Taxidermy - or 'Softy'
YES: all 4 legs are Armatured, for form and poseability

Yes: floppily stuffed with fiber-fill
Why do you call him a "Soft Mount Taxidermy": He has a traditionally mounted and altered by me, taxidermy head form, and taxidermy glass eyes. However the rest of his body is lovingly stuffed for love, not just for display.
Eyes: Metallic silver shark eyes
Type of fox: mature male, wild arctic cross fox
Where did you get his pelt ?: It is not one of mine. This pelt belongs to the commissioner who had him mailed to me, & commissioned me to plush him for her.
SIZE: About the size of your typical coyote. May have weighed as much as 30-35 pounds before he was taken

How much would it be if you supplied the pelt? Specifically a cross fox one such as this? I'm currently searching for someone to commission in the future for a poseable cross fox soft mount and it's a tie between you and LittleMissDoeEyes. lol

To "plush your pelt" as I call the commissions, it'll be 260$, all things included - except s/o eyes - if that is what you choose to use, it'll be 260$, plus the actual cost of what ever eyes you want. About 24$ I believe for the eyes, ...Otherwise I'd use 'natural' brownish/orange, red-fox comp. eyes. NOT the 'street cone orange' ones tho. Those to me are fugly. lol

Hmmmm that's a good price....I'd definitely want blue-gray eyes like on Delsin, so that would be roughly $285, correct? Hmmmmm Oh that's so tempting...For littleMissDoeEyes it's around 300 if I provide the pelt, but like double that if I don't so....hmmmm and what about poseable? Is that extra?

Also, if someone was to do the head, would you be able to do the body? If so, what would that cost or would it be the same?

Oh I just love Delsin so much and want a cross fox like him!

I did Delsin, as you know, and did the WHOLE fox(forgive my slighlty 'buzzed' self) he was Esaki's pelt @ [link] - please, feel free to ask her any and as many questions about Delsin and my work that you would like. She's a good friend of mine after the fact. XD
~ I'd do the whole posable thing, weight, and all for $260 because that's what you asked for. That would include 'Delsins'' eyes, the ones you mentioned. XD If your pelt is 'taxidermy quality' like Delsin was, your fox may even turn out beter then Delsin did.

If someone did the head, I'd be 200$. (non of this includes return shipping)

So what would be my chances of getting a fox like Delsin if you supplied the pelt? I've been searching high and low and can't find one in my price range that would make it so I could also get it soft mounted to my liking. So that's why I'm trying to see the cost of soft mounts if the taxidermist supplied the pelts, plus, as you know, I'm a newbie at choosing pelts so I'd rather leave it up to an expert if I can. xD

Ah, Okay, well then I'll have to keep my search up, hopefully I can find a pelt soon! Maybe I can pull some strings and get a pelt from someone. lol

LOL, me too. That's why i enclosed my 'dead' furries in my bedroom, or i'd fall into 'snuggle mode.' Right now, I am going to play me some Halo, Reach - Firefight or Rumble Pit. XDDD

Okay, well I noted LMDE to see if it would be possible for her to supply me with a pelt(she told me she has a cross fox at the tannery now that would be ready in about 3 months) and head mount it,(that way I'm not just taking a pelt from her) and then send it to me and maybe I can send it to you to be soft mounted...she's great with choosing pelts, so I'd be safe there if she thinks it's good, I fully trust her. lol Hopefully she'll be able to do that, my fingers are crossed. lol

Usually when you make a taxidermy piece, are they skinned with a dorsal cut?

I am just curious because my grandpa has two really nice raccoons in his freezer that he would like for me to skin, and I would like to try a taxidermy mount out of one of them.

I have not mounted a single pelt that was dorsal skinned. All the ones I have done were cased. The best ones have all of their genitals, and were cut below the anus.

I have been looking all over for a coon pelt myself. Nothing special, but with all of it's parts, lips, bottom jaw, etc. So I am very jealous of you!! XD

I hope you post pix of the finished coon when the time comes!!!

Wow!! Now that's a BIG compliment!!! I was totally against it myself for a LONG time, but I so appreciate it now, and enjoy making soft mounts for myself and for others, so that 'we' can appreciate the animals we love sooo much, by having them in our arms.
