For Clarification: The snow in the image is just being whipped off the top of the hills by a breeze. It's not actually snowing.

"I should be used to this..." The russian mumbled as she bent over to protect her face from the breeze, which seemed to want to make sure she felt it's wrath by pelting her with what felt like ice crystals but in reality was just fine grains of snow from her surroundings. "Why did I ask to do this again?" Beneath her, Valarie snorted, plowing through the deep snow drifts with determination as they followed the group along the 'road'. Every now and again they'd hit a shallow patch and the mare would perk her ears and pick up the pace, only to once again hit the deep drifts and slow back down to a crawl.

Natalya admired the mare's determination, but at the same time, wasn't about to push the young horse too far. They weren't in the event to win, not with the inexperienced animals she'd brought with her, barring Terathmus, who'd participated last year. "Slow and steady, that's what we're going to do." The middle aged woman murmured, spotting trees in the distance. "We'll rest there for an hour miss Valarie. Don't need you over straining yourself within the first day." She reasoned, leaning down and patting the mare's neck and being rewarded with a head bob in return.

Don't you love when sta.sh deletes the name you give deviations and replaces it with the file name?? >.>
