EDIT: 2/16/06 Thank you everyone for 1,000 views!Watercolor/colored pencil on envelopes. When Heros Illustrated magazine was in publication, they held contests like draw a character on an envelope. So I entered these three envelopes together and won first place and a bunch of comic books and other swag. I miss that magazine.
I obtained the images of Void, Voodoo & Zealot from three different WildC.A.T.S comics, no doubt done by Jim Lee and/or Scott Williams. I no longer own the comics, so I am unable to give exact references, if anyone wants to let me know what issues they're from I'll make sure to give the proper credit.

Threfrence you used for Zealot is either by Jim Lee or possibly Rob Lefeild. The reason I mention Lefeild is because I remember distinctly an article comparing works of his to those of other artists. Seems 'ol Rob had a problem where he copied great female poses and passed them off as his own work.
And then they got him off the board of directiors at Image comics. Yay.

Thank you VERY much for your comment... I hope it was from Jim Lee... Lefield wasn't one of my favorite artists. I didn't like how he drew feet and hands; I felt he did them too small. ^_^

I used light watercolor on all 3 envelopes and went back over some of the areas with colored pencil. I use Grumbacher watercolors and Prismacolor colored pencils. Thanks so much for your nice comment on this silly little piece!

Yup, very very old drawing. ^_^ I discovered could never draw as well as the guys who make those comics, which is why I gave up that dream, but thanks for such a nice compliment!

LOL the rules were you could enter as many pics as you wanted as many times as you wanted, you could only win one prize a month, however. They won as a group as one envelope.

Nicely done work! Yeah, it's Jim/Scott stuff, always been a fan of theirs. Your work is delicious in it's own right, though!
Your other pencilwork reminds me of Jay Anacleto's work in "Aria" and "Athena, inc." Smooth, nearly perfect form and impossible to ink! (I used to do ink assists). I'd say your pencils have an " airbrushed" quality to them.

These are fantastically coloured, with so much detail and vibrancy.
I'm particularly loving the last character, Zealot, the perspective on her arms is right on!
I use references a fair bit, and I know how challenging it is to get their likeness exactly right, so you pulled it off pretty damn well.

omg... Hero mag is dead now? man, i remember always picking a copy of that up when i was at the bookstore... then i fell out of all of that comic stuff. i remember looking at all those art contests they had, and always wishing i was good enough to win 
very well done.. i especially like the shiny silver suit. and the concept of using three envelopes is cool.. like one of those gatefold comics (is that what they call em?)

Wow, this brings back memories. All my comic book knowledge has been buried for a while. Hmm, just out of curiousity, is Cyblade (major babe) connected to these characters in any way? My memory's very rusty on this..
