Description So torn between two people.

The one I am...the big girl with the goofy smile and the occasional snort...The nerdy glasses and odd sense of style...The healthy eater and hard worker who cares and cares.

To the one who wants to fit in, to be accepted and have a few more friends to be with. The one who wants to get those skinny girl fashions, be able to have a week without harassment, to indulge once in a while and not be called a lard ass. To know that those stares on the bus are of genuine interest and not disgust.

I, like everyone, have two sides to me. I'm not the fat stereotype (I hate stereotypes). I don't over indulge on pizza, fries and pie. I look the best I can and do what I can with what I have. I exercise, do housework and run so many errands, climb the stairs to the 6th floor without stopping. But I do want to be able to wear some of those adorable fashions that littler women wear...I want to -not- be the brunt of hatred and cruel jokes. I am human after all...don't you think I have feelings as well? When someone says something mean about you, it's a completely different story, isn't it?

Someone on some forum once said that, like it or not, living as a fat person is like crossdressing or dying your hair blue: A lot of people will disapprove of it, and it would be naive not to expect anyone to talk behind your back or make snide remarks.

It was a long time ago, and I've forgotten who said it and where, but the quote's stuck with me. And it's true.

However, what they didn't mention is that those people are usually outweighed - or at least balanced out by - the people who will accept or even openly like it.

Very good ... I like your expression, and how the reflection is subtly different (like there really is a different person in there).

It's weird how a slight angle difference can make something look different, even though it's the same thing. Glad you like this picture, and yes...there probably is a different person in there somewhere. My friends sure seem to think so
