Description

Little muscular red riding hood.
A bit too early to be posting another bara dude, but oh well, it's what I have for now.

-Ogma, warrior god of eloquence-

The god of speech, language and eloquence and a member of the Tuatha Dé Dannan, the pantheon of gods in ancient Irish mythology. Alongside with the gods Dagda and Lugh, they're collectively called "the three gods of skill", and is the one responsible for creating the Ogham runic alphabet. Even though he presides over knowledge and learning, he's also a powerful warrior, and fought valiantly as a champion of the Dannan during their war against the Fir Bolg when they arrived in Ireland. When a series of events lead to the Dannan being ruled by the oppressive half-fomorian king Bres, Ogma and the other gods are reduced to menial tasks of servitude, with Ogma being responsible with carrying firewood, but also displaying his feats of strength before the court. Eventually they manage to depose Bres, who then declares war on them with a huge fomorian army lead by the tyrannical king Balor at his side. Ogma also fights during this war, serving as the champion of the god Lugh after he takes the place of their fallen king, Nuada, who fell in battle fighting Balor himself. He also gains during the war the magical sword Orna, formerly belonging to the fallen fomorian king Tethra, which recounts the deeds done with it when unsheathed.

Part of a college project themed around Irish mythology I'm working on.

Based it pretty closely on this sculpture on the Library of Congress in Washington, as I mentioned before, I'm having very little time to work on each one of these.
I wanted to incorporate the Ogham runes somewhere on his design, so I mixed it with the ideas of body tattos! Most of it is gibberish though.... Most of it.

This was also the first design I did for the project, trying out a new style of coloring to make things a bit faster. Hope it turned out okay!

Hope you all liked it, I'm going to post a Fomorian with this one as well, so check him out too! And until next time!

Nice work mate, I don't see many interpretations of Ogma. Good job!

Ah, it's my god. Eloquence is my notable feature. The only drawback is that when I'm in the South people think I have a northern accent and when I'm in the North people think I have a southern accent.

And thus, you shall never be truly accepted on either side, tragic story.

Okay
So THAT explains something I didn't know.
There's a character in a game called Fire Emblem who's this beastly, super strong, and semi-shirtless dude named Ogma
And he spoke with a slight irish accent
This makes sense now. Thank you.

Oh, I know Ogma from Heroes and my outside knowledge of the Shadow Dragon/Mystery of the Emblem duology, but I didn't know he had a irish accent!
Seems the localization team had some fun with it!
