Description
--Michael-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------One of the most prominent angels in Judaism, Christianity and Islamism, bearing the title of "Archangel", the "prince
of all angels" and being one of the, if not THE most important angel in the celestial hierarchy. He's seen as the
commander of the heavenly host and protector of Israel, and particularly, children. It was he who defeated Satan and
his minions during his uprising against God, an event for which he is remembered through statues and pictures all around the
world. In some moments Michael has also been responsible for acts of destruction, such as the destruction of the Sennacherib
army, and in some places he's known as an angel of death, carrying the souls to heaven and offering them one last chance of
redemption.

Not much to say about him... The design was hard to come up with, but as soon as I began drawing everything started flowing
strangely well.

--Miguel------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, I know... Younger me had a much different mindset back then >w>
Take everything you see in the first pages in my gallery with a grain of salt, most of it has already been disowned by me at this point, or is in a serious need for an update. The angels are going to receive a complete makeover in the future, plus their actual "humanoid' traditional forms to go along with their weird ones.
But thanks! Glad you still like it nonetheless!

Very intricately designed, and very well done! Details such as the Sephirotic Tree, the Latin inscription on his shield bearing the question of his name, the lights like eyes glowing in his mouth...! Just, all of it... mwah!

It's a bit dated by now, I probably should try to do a 2.0 version of it sometime, but glad you still liked it so much! Thanks a bunch!

Yup! It's the literal latin translation of the name Michael!
It's very common to see him depicted with this written on his shield.

Im not really bothered by the Kabbalah being on the angels (its not canon in my faith) due to my story the look fits as the map of the multiverse (highest dot is heaven and lowest is hell and the middle are different realities and universes)

I take notes from all the Abrahamic religions when designing them, Gabriel's has some takes from Islamism for example... And after doing so many designs it gets kinda boring drawing crosses all the time, angels are not exclusive to Christianity after all.
Now that I think of it, it's good for you to have mentioned it... Omniel was supposed to have Eye of Providence-like details... I guess not anymore. HAHAHA XD

I like the blood spilling from his arm and the the fire on his head
But unlikely Gabriel you didn't explain the symbolism. Why a tiger? Is the shield there because his is the Shield of God? Why fire on his head?
And I'm also still waiting an explanation for why your angel are made out of bones

-A lion actually, a symbol of bravery but most of all one of the symbols attribuited to Jesus himself, as the ''Lion of Judah"
-The shield is actually part of his iconography, representing his role as the protector of the tribe of Israel. You can see it in almost all of his statues:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mic…
-"Quis ut Deus" is actually a direct translation of his name, which means ''Who is like God?". According to legends Michael
uttered this to Lucifer himself when he defeated him in battle.
-The fire actually symbolizes a soul, and is actually hanging on two scales on his head, another one of this iconographies
as the angel who judges the dead.
Sorry for the late reply, I was quite busy these weeks with college right around the corner...
Hope i have helped answering your questions! XD
