Description
Here's one of my favorite couples in all of fiction: Ruby and Sapphire! Don't worry, everyone. Garnet will be next. The designs for the characters in my Steven Universe AU, "Paragon and Starlight: A Steven Universe Story", are based on Rebecca Sugar's original pilot designs as I wanted the characters and the world to look unique but make it feels like that it's still Steven Universe in some way. I hope you guys will enjoy!

Always feels the need to protect those she loves, especially Sapphire, Nora, and the Ruby Squad.

Her body glows when sunbathing on a hot day.
While she's a part-time scout leader and tennis instructor with Sapphire either separate or as Garnet, Ruby is also an author who has written her own cowgirl genre series called "Ruby Rider".
Fire comes out of her nose when she sneezes. Sapphire finds this cute.

Thermokinesis: Ruby can increase the temperature and generate heat, depending on her emotional state.
Pyrokinetic Touch: This ability allows Ruby to set fire to whatever she touches.
Fire Dash: Ruby can move at high speed by forming a fireball around herself.
Heat Resistance: Ruby is very resistant to heat.
Weapons:
Gauntlets: Ruby can summon her gauntlets whenever feeling the need to release her sheer anger. Ruby is capable of putting a great deal of force behind them to smash a titanium-steel tank.

Can sometimes come off as cold and distant due to her precognitive abilities which allow her to have experienced the resolution of an event prior to it happening.
Can be rather amorous and flirty with Ruby.
Despite her passive-aggressive appearance, she can have a bit of a violent side.

While she doesn't need to eat or drink, Sapphire very much enjoys coffee.
Has a fondness of dolphins as her wedding with Ruby was dolphin-themed.
Enjoys giving back massages to Ruby during their private time after a day of hard work.

Future Vision: Sapphire can see the future to some extent. Unlike Garnet, who can see multiple futures due to Ruby's impulsive influence and intervene in the change of the future, Sapphire could only see one definitive future where she doesn't intervene, probably for her passive personality. However, she began to slowly acquire the ability to see multiple futures over time.
Cryokinesis: Sapphire can drastically lower the temperature of her surroundings, which is rather linked to her emotions rather than a conscious ability. Offensively, Sapphire can freeze objects into solid ice and quickly summon ice spikes from the ground.
Levitation: Sapphire can hover in the air at will.
Enhanced Speed: Sapphire has proven to be able to travel great distances in a short time.
Weapons:
Knuckledusters: Originally Sapphire didn't have a weapon due to being an aristocrat Gem. During the Centurion Wars, she had Bismuth create a pair of knuckledusters for her. Sapphire's knuckledusters are strong enough to punch through an squad of berserker Gem soldiers.

Overview: Around 6,000 years ago, both Ruby and Sapphire were attending a party on Earth at Pink Diamond's Palace during Blue Diamond's visit. Sapphire was accidentally pushed into Blue Diamond's path and was almost crushed. Ruby rushed from her place in line to save the precious Sapphire and the two fused, becoming Garnet. Blue threatens to shatter Ruby, but Pink intervenes, to able to convince a reluctant Blue to transfer the cross-fusion into her Court. Eventually, Ruby and Sapphire-and Garnet as whole-become high-ranking members in the Pink Court and later the Paragon Court, earning the title of "Grand Clarity" and Administrator of Earth, having to oversee all Gem affairs on the planet and the rest of the Sol System. During the Centurion Wars, Ruby was promoted to Platoon Commander and was given her own Ruby Squad to led in missions, while Sapphire oversaw all Sapphires' operations during the war. After the Centurion Wars, the couple decided to settle down on Earth and get married. They live with most of the Crystal Gems at the Obsidian Temple as Garnet and are rarely seen apart. Ruby's and Sapphire's story continues as they accepted becoming the godmothers of their Cutie Pie-Nora!
