Description
You know him, you wanted him. Well, here he is...Optimus Prime's mentor and the oldest Transformer around-Alpha Trion!!!!!Beyondverse Alpha Trion's design is based off of his Timelines toy from BotCon 2007.
Like in the original G1 cartoon, Alpha Trion can age and grow his hair for some reason despite being immortal.
The Balance Staff appeared in the reference sheet of Beyondverse Sentinel Prime .
-
Overview: Alpha Trion is one of the oldest living Transformers, and with that age comes a nuanced understanding of his race and their place within the universe. In his youth, he went by the name A-3, one of the original Thirteen Primes created by Primus to defeat his evil opposite Unicron the Chaos-Bringer. In his older years, he has found a comfortable role in serving as advisor to other Transformers. Though not taking part in the battles of the Third Cybertronian Civil War, he is firmly on the side of the Autobots, serving as a mentor and guide, especially to Optimus Prime and Elita-One. He is an enigmatic old robot, though he is known to be the guardian of the life-giving supercomputer Vector Sigma.

Personality: Alpha Trion is wisdom of Cybertron made flesh. He is the possessor of ancient knowledge and near limitless compassion. His data storage capacity is gargantuan, and he is extraordinarily gifted. His intelligence and engineering skills are without equal. Alpha Trion possesses information and insight expected from a being of his age and experience. Alpha Trion is at spark a very pragmatic and duty-bound individual. Being one of the original Thirteen Transformers, his computational matrix is that of a first-generation Cybertronian; his thought processes are more intricate than most Cybertronians that are currently active. His time merged with Vector Sigma increased his understanding of Cybertronian history; however, since his separation from that supercomputer, he has been more direct and sharper than he was known previously. His current body (created by the reformatting powers of the Master Computer) is more powerful than his last. He tends to offer his advice and guidance whether it is wanted or not.
Weaponry/Equipment:
- The Covenant of Primus (Vol. I & Vol. II): Named after the Thirteen Primes's precursors, the Covenant, the Covenant of Primus is a databook collection of numerous datatracks, preserved in two volumes. It is the work of Alpha Trion, who has chronicled Cybertron since nearly its beginning in an effort to preserve all ages of Cybertronian history. Also written within the Covenant are spiritual texts believed to be prophetic. However, Alpha Trion has difficulty reading too far into the future, as each section of the Covenant is written in the language of the era it represents. Thus, the most ancient sections of the book are scribed in languages long dead from the planet, and the far future is written in languages no Cybertronian yet speaks.
- The Quill: The Quill is an artifact granted to Alpha Trion by Primus himself. Though it appears no more than a simple writing stylus scaled to Transformer hands, it has the power to change the future of the Universe itself. When used together with the Covenant of Primus, the Quill has a limited ability to literally write new events into the future.
- The Balance Staff: One of the many Artifacts of the Primes said to be created by the legendary Solus Prime, the Balance of Staff serves as a conduit to Alpha Trion's technomagical powers, allowing him to tap into the energies of the Creation Matrix of Leadership and use them for a variety of reasons. However, in the hands of a non-Technomancer like Sentinel Prime, the Staff's powers are limited, only having a few abilities such as the creation of clones created from Super Energon.
Abilities:
- Technomancy: Alpha Trion is the first Technomancer, making him the first Cybertronian Magic Caster. He has the ability to tap into the ethereal matter of other dimensions, able to make minor alterations to the dimension that he's already in. I.E. manipulating reality to some degree.
Bio: Alpha Trion, originally known by the designation of A-3, was the third Prime created by the AllSpark through the will of Primus. He was well known as a chronicler and record-keeper of Cybertronian history; though he did not have the same heroic reputation as the other Primes, he was a well-versed historian, librarian, and orator. Together with his fellow newborn siblings, Trion and the other Primes established a fortress they called Crystal City. As a storyteller and keeper of legends, Trion encouraged the first-generation Cybertronians to work together by regaling them with tales of the Guiding Hand and the Covenant, believing that the kernels of truth passed down through his tales could inspire others to perform great deeds.
During the Unicron Battles, the Thirteen fought against the creator's evil opposite with their powers and artifacts. Alpha Trion preferred to strategize than directly fight, and trained alongside Quintus Prime, Liege Maximo, and Micronus Prime. During the fight against the Chaos-Bringer, Alpha Trion's Titan Nemesis sacrificed himself to save his master and friends from one of the Dark God's attacks. Trion greatly mourned the loss of Nemesis. The Thirteen Primes ultimately triumphed over Unicron with the help of Solus Prime's many artifacts, although the malevolent presence of Unicron's Anti-Spark meant that all of the Primes, Trion included, were irrevocably tainted with a touch of darkness.
In the period following the Unicron Battles, the Primes began rebuilding Cybertron, each focusing on their own interest. Trion collaborated with Prima and Vector Prime with the establishment of the ancient Cybertronian Commonwealth, creating order within their civilization and leading colonization efforts. Trion was surprised when Megatronus Prime's and Solus Prime's feelings for one another blossomed into mutual love, but said nothing of the matter. Alpha Trion would later investigate Quintus Prime's unethical experiments, which involved the creation of beast-like Cybertronian warriors called Horrorcons, who were made to fight against potential hostile threats to Cybertron. Liege Maximo's manipulations led to the accidental murder of Solus Prime by Megatronus, even as Maximo himself blamed Megatronus for the manipulation. All of this would led to the outbreak of the First Cybertronian Civil War.
During the later stages of the First Cybertronian Civil War, Trion discovered Liege Maximo's treachery when learning it from Quintus Prime, who was manipulated by Maximo to use Vector Sigma and the Plasma Energy Chamber to create soldiers only loyal to him and him alone. Revealing this to the other Primes, Alpha Trion believed that Liege Maximo, who was the true mastermind of Solus Prime's death and the war, had forfeited his right to live on Cybertron and watched as his fellow Primes imprisoned Liege Maximo aboard his Titan Vigilem.
Determined to end Megatronus Prime's crusade to exterminate all life, Alpha Trion joined Prima, Vector Prime, Micronus Prime, Alchemist Prime, Nexus Prime, Quintus Prime, The Arisen, the Knights of Cybertron, and the Protectobots aboard Prima's Titan, Emissary. They tracked him down to a far-away planet that would be known in the far future called "Earth". The Primes were able to trap Megatronus in eternal limbo with the Creation Matrix's full power, but Prima and Nexus Prime were killed during the final battle. Returning to Cybertron, Trion and the five remaining Primes watched as Emissary interred Prima's remains within his body and left Cybertron, settling on the nearby world of Mons Prima.
Alpha Trion and his closest friend Alchemist Prime retired from leadership roles, but would subtly guide the progress of the Cybertronian race, with the Knights of Cybertron serving as the vanguard force for the Prime Lineage. Onyx Prime, Micronus Prime, and The Arisen allowed themselves to be absorbed by the Well of All Sparks to activate it, giving birth to the second generation of Cybertronians. Trion and Alchemist decided to keep the existence of T-Cogs-by extension, the ability to transform, from the second generation, a secret for the time being.
After the Great Cataclysm and the founding of Iacon, Trion took up residence there as an advisor for the Council of Ancients and founded the Iacon Hall of Records. When the Quintessons annexed Cybertron and gave Cybertronians the "gift" of transformation by reactivating the dormant T-cogs, Alpha Trion ruefully noted that even he had been momentarily deceived by the Quintesson's false promises. Later on, during the First and Second Quintesson Wars, Trion was part of the Cybertronian Resistance, creating a device called the Coder Remote that deactivated the Dark Guardians and forced the Quintessons off of Cybertron.
During the Golden Age, Alpha Trion was a founding member of the Cybertronian Senate, appointed as Senator of Iacon and advisor to Nova Prime, and later his successor Guardian Prime. During this time, he served as a new mentor for the young scientist Shockwave after Jhiaxus's disappearance. The two would work together in many research projects that were benefits to Cybertron, such as the early development of Pretender technology.
During the Second Cybertronian Civil War between the Protectons and the Destrons, Trion was not an active participant in the war, instead hoping to find a way to end the conflict as bloodlessly as possible. He was appointed as an advisor to new Protecton leader Nominus Prime after the death of his predecessor, Zeta Prime. In such, Alpha Trion helped Nominus in finding the AllSpark, allowing the Protectons to revitalize it with a small portion of power from Cybertron's sun Hadean, restoring the planet's energy supplies and ending the war.
Over time, he stepped down from being a Senator and became head recordskeeper at the Iacon Hall of Records. 12 million years ago, he met a young bot named Orion Pax, a member of House Pax who was chosen to become to his assistant archivist. Believing that there is something special about Orion, Alpha Trion served as a mentor and father figure to the young mech.
In the twilight hours of the Age of Order, the Senate and the Functionist High Council sequestered Cybertronians under the caste system. During this time, Alpha Trion kept himself busy in his office by monitoring transmissions from across the planet, and grew increasingly interested in the exploits of a gladiator named D-16, who had recently taken on the nickname of "Megatronus". Encouraged by Alpha Trion, Orion Pax and Megatronus became friends and intellectual sparring partners. Trion hoped that Orion Pax's idealism would temper Megatronus's aggressive urges. However, after a series of events, Orion and Megatronus (who later shorten his name to "Megatron") ended their friendship as their respective anti-Functionist movements, the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Around 10 million years ago, during the Cybertronian Cold War, when Orion Pax originally served as Sentinel Prime's second-in-command, Trion took on a young Cybertronian mech named Beta Maxx as his new assistant archivist, tasked with cataloguing the known planets in the universe and their inhabitants within the archives.
Around 9 million years ago, once Orion Pax became Optimus Prime during the Third Cybertronian Civil War, he broadcast a message to all Cybertronians, asking them to join him in the fight against the Decepticons and creating the Autobot Army. Alpha Trion watched this broadcast with interest from the Hall of Records. He would soon join Optimus's new council of advisors, the Grand Convocation, always offering him guidance and advice in his early days as Autobot leader. During the First Battle of Iacon, Optimus Prime's conjunx endura Ariel was critically injured by Megatron in battle. Thankfully, Alpha Trion was able to rebuild her in a new, stronger and more durable body, calling her "Elita-One". When Optimus blamed himself for being unable to stop the Exodus, Alpha Trion assured him that sometimes a leader's role was to let their followers go and make their own decisions.
After many failed invasions of Iacon throughout the war, the ancient Cybertronian decided to sent the Artifacts of the Primes to Earth, as the Covenant of Primus had foretold that an important chapter of the war against the Decepticons would be decided there, and Alpha Trion wished Optimus Prime to have these important artifacts at his disposal. The Covenant also foretold that he might one day leave Cybertron in the search of an energy source that may be instrumental to the planet's restoration. Within the Star Saber, Alpha Trion sealed a message telling Optimus of the significance of the weapons he was sending and his eventual departure. He also scattered the Omega Lock and the Omega Keys across the Milky Way Galaxy in order to keep it out of Decepticon hands. Alpha Trion was also in possession of a database with the locations of the relics which he highly encrypted, rendering it useless to Decepticon hackers, even to the likes of Soundwave.
At some point after the Great Exodus, Alpha Trion was captured by the bounty hunter Lockdown, who was hired by Gelgastorm and Shockwave, who wished to use the old sage to access the true power of Vector Sigma and create a new army of Decepticons that'll finally destroy the Autobots and end the war once and for all. However, it's revealed that Lockdown was working for the Quintessons, instead using Alpha Trion and Vector Sigma to activate an old Quintesson Space Bridge in the Cybertronian underground, allowing the five-faced terrors to once again conquer Cybertron. Thankfully, the Quintessons are eventually driven off from the planet by a temporary Autobot/Decepticon Alliance and Alpha Trion is freed from captivity by Elita-One's Amazon Squadron.
Around 4 million years ago, Alpha Trion decides to leave Cybertron aboard the Autobot starship Dawn Treader to prevent himself from falling into Decepticon hands a second time. Looking for a way to restore Cybertron before the planet went fully dark, Alpha Trion travelled across the galaxy in search for a solution. He soon discovered rumors about the ruined planet of Hydrus IV and its miracle fuel Nucleon, believing that it is the key of revitalizing Cybertron. While Nucleon probably won't erase the ravages of the war, it will greatly replenish of the planet's energy resources.
After that, he just suddenly vanished without a trace. Some believe that he was killed during a Decepticon ambush, while others think that he murdered by the deranged natives of Hydrus IV or just went insane and then committed suicide, but no one saw him after that, wherever he is.
Unbeknownst to anyone except for Primus himself, Alpha Trion is still alive....
Those descended from Alpha Trion tend to be more intellectual than other Cybertronians, with advanced memory banks and data analysis capabilities. Despite their ancestor having an aerial-based alt-mode, they tend to prefer land-based ones though they don't have any great attachments towards those they have chosen, changing them as pragmatism requires. They usually blend into the background and prefer to be non-descript, their forms neither threatening nor impressive.
