Hi, everybody! Dakaueze here, and today here's one of the most important relics in Cybertronian history: The Matrix of Leadership!!!!

In the Beyondverse, the Matrix will be referred to as "the Creation Matrix", the artifact's original name when Bob Budiansky first created it as a concept to introduce new Transformers during the early years of his stint on the Marvel Transformers comics back in the 80s.

The Beyondverse design for the Creation Matrix is based on Soundbluster's design of it for her Shattered Glass Transformers Prime comics, along with having aspects of the AllSpark Matrix that appeared in the final episode of Transformers Animated and the Matrix that appeared in the positive-universe Transformers Prime.

Description:
The Creation Matrix of Leadership, or just simply the Creation Matrix, is an ancient artifact that remains central to Cybertronian society to this very day. An object of great power that's currently held by Optimus Prime, it is a central relic related to the Prime Lineage dating back to the era before recorded history. In addition to its symbolic significance as a marker of leadership and one's true nature as a Prime, the Creation Matrix is also an effective source of new Sparks-its crystal lattice housing the so-called "Primal Program" that could create new life.

The mythology is that the Creation Matrix was created by Primus from a small sliver of the AllSpark, as a gift to the Thirteen Primes, the original leaders of the Cybertronian race and the first of their kind. Following the creation of the Thirteen, Primus forged the Creation Matrix as a conduit for his life-giving energies, meant to serve as a vessel for the Primes to house their wisdom and knowledge for future generations. Some interpretations of the artifact's origins claim that it was created from Solomus, the god of wisdom, who was trapped in the form of a crystal during the Theomachy, while others say that it was once a jewel on the hilt of the Star Saber, the legendary blade of Prima of the Thirteen, the very first Transformer. It was also said that it is one of the only things that is capable of defeating Primus's evil opposite Unicron, the god of chaos. Recent discoveries revealed that the Creation Matrix can create new Cybertronian life similar to the AllSpark and Vector Sigma. Only a true Prime can harness the full power of the Creation Matrix, and it chooses who will have that honor. For anyone else, it is simply an ordinary relic of religious and societal significance. Though modern Cybertronian society is severely divided on the origins of the Creation Matrix, it is commonly accepted that it is a sign that one is a true Prime.

What is known is that the Creation Matrix is an amazing and theoretically limitless energy source, although not one that can be harnessed in any standard fashion. Its energies have the ability to birth new Cybertronians or enhance existing ones, but they cannot be controlled per se. Only beings with an affinity for the Creation Matrix can use it to create new life, and it is a very rare occurrence indeed for the Creation Matrix to directly alter an existing being. This is primarily known to happen only when it chooses a new Prime; depending on an unknown set of criteria, the new leader will be physically enhanced and renamed with a “Prime” suffix. Once bestowed upon one with the Affinity, the Creation Matrix will experience what its host will experience in life, storing information within its crystal core as it had done with past Primes. In occurrences of improper encoding and genetic compatibility, there is no transformation or renaming; in these cases, the interim leader holds the Creation Matrix only until it can be passed to a more suitable candidate.
