Did you hear that one company wants to put solar panels on the moon in 2035 and they'll be visible to earth? It's supposed to generate electricity that can be sent back to earth but might tick off a lot of nature lovers.

Hmm, I don't know if the moon would be a good idea since it orbits the Earth, how would you transmit the power back to the planet?
I've heard of orbital solar collectors that would be in geosynchronous orbit and beaming power down to earth via microwaves but that has it's own unique challenges (like say, not microwaving the surface of the earth!)

But yes, I agree, we need alternative sources of energy. I for one advocate nuclear power.

If there were a guarantee of no earthquakes or any tornados ever happening, I wouldn't worry as much. I'm undecided about the nuclear thing. We had an earthquake that sent everyone running outside and it was never supposed to happen. What if there's one that's 8 on the scale?
