I was mightily impressed by =soul-less-puppet 's 5 min sketch see it here! and thought I should challenge myself to it too... except I took more like 8 minutes lolTo be fair, the drawing was done in 5 minutes and I added the quick paint in about 3 or so
So err, anyway, I guess when I'm in a panic to draw something you get Sailor Mars!

Fire is always one of the coolest powers. Never goes out of style...just like pearl necklaces and little black dresses.

I'll never do something like that, I usually always take time normally, even for a doodle like that, it can be hard, because I never like speed painting or sketching, I always do it digitally as quickly as possible, but not by hand.

It's fun to challenge yourself though man, it's like what can you do in 5 minutes.
I certainly wasn't expecting this!

Well, when it comes to art, I do have a problem with them by hand drawn, but I do have great skills with digital coloring and always will try to improve.

The best way to get over that hump is to draw by hand more frequently.

Sometimes I also need lots of tutoring in order to improve too, it's not like I can self-tutor myself, that process just slow going.

Actually you can, just draw a little every day with no expectations. As you train your hands around certain shapes it's no problem.
The biggest problem I see with most people who want to learn to draw is that they set out with big ambitions and become frustrated early.
Try drawing circles until you can freehand a near perfect circle, in both directions (clockwise and counterclockwise). Most everything in illustration can be deconstructed into circles, ovals or egg shapes.
It doesn't take a lot of dedication, just scrap paper and a few short minutes. But do it every day.
I think doodling is very important as it is a way to explore art without expectation of "success", but those skills you train your hands with every day will become the tools you use to make better art.

Will do, only when I find the time OR back into my old college lecturing career, these are the only times I can utilize them for such skills.

Even if I did make one now, I still require a scanner, camera shots just don't cut it.

Practise personally is no problem, like you said about drawing the perfect circle and stuff. But an artwork like you did that one is another, even if I did a fanart sketch in 5 minutes, uploading is the problem, like I need is a scanner. Unless if I have to do the sketching on tablet instead, now that is very different from the old pencil & paper.

You don't have to upload anything at all, it's just for practice. Don't let that stop you!

Oh, I see. Anyway, thanks for the advice. But let's hope I'll do those IF I end up in my old college career, my current job is just not something I wish to, they're doing the things that are against my styles.
