As a life-long cat girl lover, Mirage was a memorable character. She seemed a little more far-reaching and menacing than the other villains on that show. Since she was obviously inspired by Bast, I thought it would have been cool for them to introduce a character based on Anubis with a jackal/canine theme, Mirage's long lost brother perhaps?

From the episode "The Lost Ones." No doubt that's the best on
While she still looked fine in the other episodes, that episode, they made what I said about 10% change. I mean other than the coloration, and the smooth frame-by-frame, those little improvements made all the difference in the world for her.
Her face in those other episodes were basically the standard drawing with cat if you take away the obvious touches. She'd look like a regular house cat, even her gender would be undistiguishable if it were for the eye-liner, hair, dress, etc.
They've slender the image, especially at the cheeks, she appears more wild-like species of cat and by basic line drawing it's instantly disquished as feminine. It's beautiful that you also capture her best image as well here.

Man, I really gotta do a better job on Mirage, I thought this was pretty good at the time I did it but now I cringe (I was really into the airbrush haha).
Yeah, I love the design for that ep, I get the feeling that that was supposed to be her intro to the series but production probably got delayed.
I'm not sure if there are more frames of animation per se but it sure looks rotoscoped in parts to me. This makes me wonder if it was net-new rotoscoping or some pre-existing Disney stock (Disney has reused their live action stock many times in various features, there's a great YouTube video out there that compares it.) Whoever the key animators were for her did a great job with her facial movements. You can really tell who's using a mirror when they draw and who's looking in a book of stock expressions. Makes me wonder who was working on key stuff for that episode...
It really helps that Bebe Neuwirth's voice was just perfect too, it's that great combination between design, animation, storytelling and voice acting that gives a character like Mirage that stand out quality.
