I loved this cartoon, even though it appeared to have been animated by left-handed Frenchmen (except the intro which I think was done by Cowboy Jesus).
The Legend of Calamity Jane was an all too short lived cartoon that was yanked off Yankee air 'cos it was TOO GODDAMN AWESOME (i.e. violent, sexy, you know, shit kids love). It was on up here for a good couple of years until Teletoon became completely pussified due to an anime-related indecent (something like putting a rape scene from Ninja Scroll on waaaaaay to early one night).
Anyway, why'd I like this?
There was shootin'
There was drinkin'
There was lesbian tension
There was whippin'
There was endless badassery...

Today is far more restrictive in content than 20 years ago, some Batman: TAS episodes wouldn't get a pass today

Well not only that, there were adult themes like racism, classism and sexism, the place Jane lived was a brothel, and Wild Bill was, well, wild.
The thing I was most impressed is that Jane always had dry wit, but then she was the character with higher standars and morals in all the show. Β She never seemed smug or condescent. Β A true role model.
I saw this charcte at cable HBO in Mexico some decades ago. It was great!

It's remarkably tough to find, I've only seen clips on YouTube and what I have on old VHS (and my memory).

I watched a few episodes on youtube and I love this show, I fell in love with the character (a sexy red head with a whip whats not to love) it was dark, gritty, and reminded me of a cross between the Jonah Hex comics and Samurai Jack in the way each episode played out, after watching one episode I jizzed my pants not just shit them

There was a Latino "cabaret dancer" at the Saloon Calamity would frequent and there was some definite... tension between them. One a rough and tumble no-nonsense type the other the typical girly girl.
