Y'know, I've never seen one of whatever program/game/manga she's in, but her pleasant face is always appealing whenever I encounter it on DA. Even when some fanart is having her do something pervy, she almost always seems just nice. Your little portrait here is further confirmation.

Sort of looks like the pictures pilots would put on the noses of their bombers back in World War II. It has a forties look to it, while keeping the modern feel of the character, too.

Starfire flew 25 missions over Europe in 1943 and 1944, after which she was rotated back to the States to train recruit pilots. And by "fly," she herself flew, carrying two bombs -- one in each hand. Her bombing practices were eventually seen to be rather limited in effectiveness, as only she could perform them. She finished the war as a secretary in the War Department, where she won a commendation for her breakneck typing speed. The award was presented by Rosie the Riveter.
Rumors of a romance with a brash young upstart, Captain America, during her tour of duty in Europe were never proven.
