Description
The Triomphant class of cruisers is a 360 meter long mainstay capital ship of the Solar Coalition designed by the SIGNAL heavy industrial corporation based on Ceres for the common warship contract series. While it does carry less missiles than the Dark class destroyer (688 compared to over 700 for the Dark), the Triomphant is much better equipped for supporting and defensive operations with its eight 180mm rapid fire coilguns, 42 dual 40mm revolver cannons, an extensive electronic warfare suite, and a nose mounted chemical laser to provide extensive defense against smaller craft and missiles. Another superior feature that the Triomphant class has is a much longer possible range without need of resupply due to being able to carry more provisions and fuel, allowing it to partake on extended independent operations compared to destroyer craft.

However, after a portion of the Solar Coalition fleet along with captured Centauri assets went missing amidst an unexplained anomaly and ended up in Ancerious, the vessels have begun to show their age and live past their expected end of service dates as task force command vessels, typically using parts taken off retired vessels that currently can not be produced anymore. The vessel pictured is the Cormorant Raider, the acting command vessel of the Coalition of Kepler's 4th Quick Reaction Task Force
