Now everything got back to the normal, because the elections are over, I’d like to share with you guys this little drawing of Wilt I made on Sept 2008, I don’t remember the day. This time he’s not representing James Bond, but he’s in gadget’s shoes, I mean, suit! I had this idea because that month the Disney's movie Gadget (the first one) was on Disney DX (before Fox Kids, and later Yetix) and I watched it with my brothers cos we like it, specially my younger brother. So, we were watching the movie and I thought, “oh wow! Wilt could do a great work as Inspector Gadget!” I was so amazed when I found it out! I’ haven’t realized it before I was SO very excited with the idea! so much than instead of watching the movie, I went to my bedroom to draw Wilt like this! I had to, cos Wilt really fits! also you know I love crossovers with movies and shows!
My my my! It was amazing when I had this idea! I could picture him catching thieves and other bad guys, and using all the devices and tools of the “Gadget” character with great mastery and skill!!! And I still can! …Man! I’m sure Wilt would be totally awesome in gadget’s role! And I think he could use the tools better, to display all they potential and he wouldn’t look silly, like the classic character of Gadget. I mean, I liked the movie (just the first, cos the secuel “Gadget 2” was SO awful! ( it was not the same Gadget!! he looked like a robot less than a guy with feelings and personality, also it had a very silly plot and other stuff) and the Gadget from disney, and also the classic character from the 80’s cartoon show, and the gadget from the other new version, because Gadget was always very kindhearted and loyal, and has a simple but cool and hilarious wit! but I never was a big fan of Gadget cos almost always he looked a bit silly and sometimes too silly and although I know the character it’s supposed to be clumsy cos THAT is the character, I don’t tend to like silly characters (moreover, sometimes I run away from them! ) I liked the Disney's Gadget movie better, cos the other gadget looked too goofy!
I think Wilt would be a great as Gadget because he’s highly intelligent and ingenious, and he has a really great and bold spirit, I think he would give a twist to the character in an amazing way for sure! Also, he looks SO freakin’ fantastic in Gadget’s outfit! and quite sexy too! So, it’s “Gadget-Wilt”! I had lots of fun drawing this one, and I’m pretty pleased with the result! I decided to draw him in the rooftop of a building cos that was one of the scenes I imagined, with him like this, his expression and pose here is what I loved most! Also I loved a lot the coat that flows with the wint! that’s one of my most favorite things to draw is coats and jackets flowing when there is wind! I want to dedicate this to Craig of course, like all my drawings about Foster’s, and also to every fan of Wilt! Oh and if you like this, maybe I can make more drawings of him in action as Gadget
Oh the tittle! The tittle is because Gadget always says that, and that interjection always sound fun to me! I always liked it, for some reason I thought it was cool Maybe because it’s a phrase I hadn't heard before, and I love original and creative interjections, specially when they are from amazement and excitement A funny thing of it is, here in Mexico that quote was always translated as “Wowsico” or “Guausico”, instead of “Wowser” or "wowsers" (I think it’s because that’s the way in mexico they translate “wow” as “guau” and I think people in the dubbing studios thought it was like wow Well, when gadget movie was on in Mexico, I looked for info about the famous catchy quote cos I had it stuck on my head since I watched Gadget for the fist time, and I found many things I still remember; that it was the name of a cartoon dog, a phrase that meant “lout”, and of course, at the end I found the definition that it was a interjection that means surprise or amazement in a positive way, like “wow!” or something.
So, at the end I choose the definition about the “wow” quote, and that’s what I think until now, that it’s a quote from excitement or amazement …But I laughed so hard when I saw something in a review of the movie (I think that article no longer exist, I looked for it now and I couldn’t find it, but believe me, THAT was what it said! ) about that Gadget said “wowsers” cos he get aroused when he saw the woman he loved! :rolf: referring to Dr. Bradford...Oh God! I still laugh about it!! …it was SO funny and that idea was in my mind when I drew this, for obvious reasons …Anyway, just a funny anecdote, I still remind it and I like to share my stories with you guys and I think this was the other reason for this tittle, cos at that day I drew this DID said "wowsers" and not just from excitement to see how cool it was....but for the two both reasons indeed!!
