If this is that Revell kit, you have my deepest respect and sympathy! After working on that kit, I was ready to quit my job and become a sniper!

It is indeed a Revell kit.   And Ive assembled far worse. This one didnt require much putty, just quite a bit of sanding and scraping and a bit of mild reshaping. .

It is an old Revel Monogram model.  watch ebay to get them fairly cheap, or buy too quickly and pay a fortune.

cool. ill try to keep an eye out for those then if i manage to snag one i know a guy along with his shop that can do paintjob and detailing for it, i got a snowspeeder statue painted by him allready so a starfury would look good next to it.

headhunterstore.weebly.com/ thats the guy and the shop i'm talking about incase your curious.

Ive seen his stuff before, nice work.

I do take commissions but I dont know if Im willing to do another starfury for a few months.  It would have to have some nice dorsal plate art to interest me.

unfortunately you are in states :/ so any commission id get from you would cost a leg and an arm in delivery costs.

That if i could afford it anyway. I'm full time media tech student so money is all ways an issue along with time or lack there of.

Lovely work.
How'd you get the engines to glow such a brilliant blue?

The trick in all the "glow" effects is a combination of layered paints using white, metallic silver,  translucents and flourescent paints.  then using a short wavelength (blue) light from far away focused at the model.  The camera/your eye can barely pickup the light but the translucents and flourescents reradiate brighter given the white/silver underlayers making them glow, even to the eye, more than they otherwise would in a uniform ambient light.

Did you know that Sheridan's ship was painted in honor of the Flying Tigers of WW2? According to legend, surviving members of the team even visited the studio.
