FireAlpaca has a sister software called "Medibang Paint Pro" (previously known as CloudAlpaca)
FireAlpaca and MedibangPaint Pro update very regularly with bug fixes and new features, so be sure that you are using the latest versions! Sorry to say that I cannot help too often with troubleshooting FireAlpaca/Medibang Paint Pro. Just click on the first color box to switch the colors, or press "X" on your keyboard to swap the colors (bc that's the keyboard shortcut)

i know this is super old but I recently got Firealpaca and it won't detect my Pen Pressure. I use Vista and an Intuous medium. My pen pressure works in everything else, too :/ its just FireAlpaca. I did the Environment Setting thing and still nothing.

Hello! When i try to draw using the pen tool, nothing happens. It does this for so far everything except blur, firealpaca 1 and 2, and probably anything after that. Is there a way i can fix this?

Actually, i fixed it after i posted the comment >w< It wouldn't work until i made a new canvas, but it takes a few tries when you change the thickness of the pen tool to start drawing with it.

I saved something I worked on till 4am as a psd. I opened it today and everything I did is gone. What happened?

I only got FireAlpaca recently so, most of the things you said, I don't understand. I had had two layers up when I worked on it. One for a background, and one for sketching. I saved the file as a .PSD so that the layers would stay. When I opened it today, there was only one blank layer (named Layer 2, which I did not name either layer that). That layer is turned on, but it is a blank canvas. I do not know what "Draft Layers" are. I do not like GIMP and do not have it on my computer. That is why I have FireAlpaca. I tired to open it in Paint.net, MS Paint, and Windows Photo Viewer. The sketching was all I got done before I went to bed and I used the "Pencil" tool under "Brushes".
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Especially, since out of the three people I asked, you're the only one who answered.
If any of it helps, I have a Monoprice, 10 inch tablet, and Windows 7.

You can't open .PSD files with Windows Photo Viewer or MS Paint. They're incompatible. You have to use a program or website that supports .PSDs to open/view them.
There is a tool called the "Select Pen" tool, whose shortcut is "S" on the keyboard.
A common mistake made by first-time FireAlpaca users is that people sketch or make changes with their select pen instead of using the regular "Brush" tool (whose shortcut is "B") Usually you can tell because the select pen is a light red color when drawing with it until you pick another tool, which makes the selection outline show up (and makes non-selected areas blue.)
Basically, the select pen is for making selections, as the name implies, instead of for "typical" drawing lines on the canvas like the "Brush" does. I'm not sure if that's what you did, but so far it sounds like what happened. FireAlpaca otherwise usually does a good job of saving .PSD files without a problem.
If that still doesn't sound like what happened, maybe want to check the fire-alpaca group or the "Everything FireAlpaca" tumblr: everythingfirealpaca.tumblr.co… and look through their "FAQ" first before asking them questions.

Yeah, Everything FireAlpaca and the fire-alpaca group are the two others I asked. I don't and haven't ever used keyboard shortcuts in drawing programs. If you want, I can give you a link to my Tumblr and post up pictures there. Would that help (I'm going to go ahead and do so)?

I know that you're comment is pretty old, but you can put a dot at where you want your line to start and press and hold shift. You should see a line and you can position where you want the line to end. Hope this helps!

can you set fireaplaca so that your homescreen is different? like for me when i open firealpaca everything is squished on the left so i have to readjust it every time i open it. is there a way to save preferences in that way?
