EXPERIMENT NOTES
[23/07] The construction of the Imbuement spell has seen a breakthrough. I anticipate that it should be completed quite soon.
[26/07] The Imbuement spell is complete.
[27/07] A suitable subject with high susceptibility and malleability was identified in a nearby area and subsequently immobilized. He is currently detained while I prepare the components necessary for Imbuement. The first experiment will commence tomorrow.
[28/07] Execution of the Imbuement spell itself occurred without major issue, but the results were less than hypothesized. Extracting a part of my soul via a graph was more painful than expected, though the process of transferring it to the subject occurred easily. Within a few seconds after making eye contact with the graph, the subject's c became unconscious, and his body changed to resemble my own, though only to a degree - his apparent age seemed more similar to the subject’s original age than mine, and instead of orange his hair became a pure white, although his eyes did take on a green color resembling my own.
Perhaps the portion of my soul was strong enough to eliminate the subject's sense of identity, but not replace it completely - he was rendered catatonic by the procedure, unable to respond to any physical stimulation or auditory stimuli when called by his name.
[29/07] In order to test whether the subject's mind would remain as malleable as it had been after the Imbuement spell, I planted the suggestion within him of a new identity that remembered always being a kitsune, new short-term memories that remembered applying for a job as a maid, and new long-term memories that would provide the muscle memory and techniques required for such a role. All were carried out successfully. Only upon questioning did I realize I had neglected to give the subject a new name alongside her new memories, however… perhaps Celeste will suffice.
[30/07] In the morning I introduced “Celeste” to the mansion, who seemed to have no problems integrating into her new environment. If anything, a helper around the house will be quite convenient.
Conclusions: As a preliminary trial, the Imbuement spell can perhaps be considered a partial success. Questions remain as to how I might refine the process further though - perhaps a larger portion of my soul inserted into the graph, or a refinement of the graph itself to allow a stronger transmission into the subject.
One would imagine a kitsune host would be more compatible than a normal human… but the primary concern is whether their own magic would reject my own. If the research I have done is correct, and the color of a kitsune's foxflame is correlated with not just their personality, but also the purity of their soul, someone with a pure white flame would be the most ideal subject. Valeria's golden-yellow flame is a good starting point, but her strength of will can only be an impediment towards the Imbuement process. I can only hope Priscilla's foxflame will provide a more favorable result - her fourteenth birthday is soon imminent, after all.
