After checking out Bioware's Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, I wanted to do a little sketch of Shade. I think she's pretty cool. But wow, those boots are a pain to draw. XDShade is Β© SEGA/Bioware

Oh yes those boots are a pain to draw, I've drawn them before and my character Zenith who is a Nocturnus warrior and Mirage's father has similar boots on.

Yipes! That's a lot of complicated footwear to draw. But that's why you either simplify the shapes, or never show the character below the knees. XD
That's cool. Does that mean that Mirage is related to the Nocturnus in some way? Besides being an echidna of course.

They are rough. If you don't break them down into simplified shapes, they get overwhelming pretty quick.
