Description This is a redesigned version of the original Metroid lifecycle from Metroid 2: The Return of Samus. I started this in my Intermediate Algebra class, and I thought the Alpha Metroid turned out perfectly, so I just decided to finish the whole lifecycle in my notebook. I hope that Nintendo uses these Metroids again someday.

Not much else to it.

Metroids are (c) to Nintendo.

Great detail! I noticed Alpha and Gamma gradualy started looking like zeta, then the zeta and the omega became simular to the queen.

I quite agree with you on reusing the Metroid forms past the well-known larval stage....at least we got aN(oversized)Omega Metroid in Fusion!

That is true. If we're lucky, we'll see these versions again in the new Metroid coming out next year. But if it does take place after Super Metroid, then the Metroids would be unlikely to pop up.

Well sadly MOM is between Super Metroid and Fusion. so sadly the titular critters would appear not to to be in it.

I thought it was. At least Ridley is still alive and kicking despite getting killed so many times. And for some reason I was hoping that this game would take place across a large portion of the Metroid timeline. You know, have a mission chronologically before Metroid 2. One after Metroid 2. And other spots in the timeline like that. I don't know why I like the idea, but I do.

I find that rather odd...i mean he got COMPLETELY disintegrated in prime 3....COMPLETELY!....course he has survived other 'deaths.'.....that would be pretty cool...kinda like a "Metroid memories" sort of thing.

Yeah, Ridley is a strange guy. Of course, there could be multiple Ridleys.

Sorry it took so long to reply.

Nah Rids seems to be either a unique individual of a certain species or a mutant of his own species......or....maybe....he's like cell from DBZ....can regenerate from a single cell......or.maybe not.

nah s'okay!

He's a bit of a mystery that's for sure. Ridley's great and all, but I would love to see Kraid return in a 3D Metroid. Can you just imagine the rolling hills of blubber rendered in glorious 3D?

That's good.

....yeah but being beaten by a blue hedgehog with ADHD, a abnormally smart freak of a fox, and an red echidna that's rather gullible causes me to cast a bit of a critical ey on his performance as villian......course he DID have the huevos to blow up half the MOON!...so..yeah.

yes very much it would work....and she survived the events of the first Metroid so who says she couldn't have been lying in wait all those years trying to formulate the perfect plan to get revenge on Samus?......with a new body to cause even more nightmares than her last one?

Wolf1991 In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2010-01-04 02:06:26 +0000 UTC]

......maybe not the blubber but the rest of him would be awesome. Especially if he's given a little backstory and a nice revamp on his basic concept and design like Ridley has been since his inception especcially if he were done like he was meant to be In Metroid Prime or as he was In Super Smash Bros Brawl.Oh and yes I can imagine the hills of blubber rolling and now i will see that in my nightmares...thank you.

You're welcome. It is my goal to make people fear fat. That's why I like Eggman and Kraid. XD

It would be kinda strange to see him weigh less than 20 tons though. It would be cool if Kraid was like some sort of exceptionally greedy mob boss type character.

Wolf1991 In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2010-01-24 00:21:12 +0000 UTC]

.......there was fear when i imagined that all right....but Eggman is cool....to some extent

It would look a little odd for him to be much thiner than that that is one of Kraids.....characteristics, ridley flies, samus is insanely athletic, and Kraid is.....ridiculously huge. I agree we need an organized crime leader actalike to go with Ridley's...gangster persona.

Eggman is awesome and you know it. XD

It would definitely work. And then Mother Brain could be the godfather of the group. Provided she's still alive.

I never knew what they looked like past the larva stage.
So how long do they live period?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-05 01:55:44 +0000 UTC]

Truth be told, I really don't know. I guess as long as they can keep on devouring energy, they can stay alive. They are actually bio-engineered lifeforms so they aren't natural which means that their life span is essentially unknown.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-05 04:01:44 +0000 UTC]

But they had to be engineered after another natural lifeform right? Some other species DNA warped, you can't just make something out of nothing....can you?

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-07 16:13:53 +0000 UTC]

I don't really know. The Chozo are the ones that made the Metroids in the first place. The Chozo are the most intelligent species in the Metroid universe and they are the ones that created Samus' power suit and all of its upgrades.

If I recall correctly, the Metroids were created to keep a species simply known as "The X" at bay on planet SR-388. The X are the ultimate parasites and could infect any living creature, kill it hours, and then use its body and memories. They were practically unstoppable. The Chozo, seeing how dangerous they are, created the Metroids to kill the X.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-09 01:52:52 +0000 UTC]

I never knew all that!
Where did you learn all that?! But if the X could infect any living organism how are the metroid able to withstand them and kill them? And what are these X suppose to look like? Tiny?
And yet where are the Chozo now? And did the Metroids succeed in ridding the universe of the X species?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-09 15:29:14 +0000 UTC]

Well, I am a Metroid fan. I know a lot about that series. Shame I don't really draw Samus much.

The Metroids can do that because they are created to absorb all kinds of energy, the X are essentially floating blobs of energy that can infect anything. The Metroids were designed specifically to destroy the X. The Chozo...I don't know where they are. They have disappeared behind the curtains of eternity from what I know. The last known contact with them was when Samus was a little girl and she was raised by them.

The rest...you'll have to find out for yourself. Play Metroid Fusion for GBA and there you can find out what happens.

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-10 14:33:51 +0000 UTC]

I see, well at least you can see those X coming, turn around and haul ass the other direction.
Being raised by chozos has gotta be harsh, bringing back memories, especially when you have to fight that chozo statue in Super Metroid the best of them all in my opinion. Though why did they raise her, she was a human not one of them....I wouldn't think they would care.

I guess I will have to play that one...never did.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-11 15:46:26 +0000 UTC]

That wouldn't be easy. The X are pretty fast too. They essentially have every ability necessary to destroy civilization.

The Chozo are very compassionate from what I gather. They love life in and of itself. They love the plants and trees and the creatures that dwell in and around them.

Yeah, Super Metroid was very awesome. Easily my favorite Metroid. Fusion and Prime 3 come right after it. You'll definitely have to try out Fusion, it is very good.

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-12 02:45:51 +0000 UTC]

It would be easy if you were Sonic the hedgehog~! XD

Yes, Super Metroid was the best one of them all. My fave area Maridia~! I just love the music its so peaceful~!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-13 16:41:17 +0000 UTC]

It would be. But if Sonic got infected, that would be extremely bad.

I'm not sure if I had a favorite area, I pretty much just loved the whole game. My favorite music though was definitely in that extremely tall shaft area in Brinstar, you know, the one that connects to Crateria and is near the entrances to Maridia and Norfair.

Maridia's music always creeped me out for some reason. XD

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-13 20:15:50 +0000 UTC]

Ah, yes I suppose it would be...but they wouldn't be able to catch him anyway so no worries.

Uh, I can't remember that music off the top of my head, I'll have to go back and listen.
Which one of Maridia's music? It has to sections after all. The soft, music box like music is the one I'm talking about...it sounds so peaceful.

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-15 16:55:10 +0000 UTC]

As long as he isn't cocky he'll be fine! XD

If you look it up on Youtube, look for "lower Brinstar" or something similar to find it.

They both kinda creeped me out. There was just something about that place that always made my hair stand on end.

I'm glad that evey area had two themes.

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-16 02:08:36 +0000 UTC]

It creeps you out...if you say so...I can understand why.
Oh ok, I remember that one....that one was a little strange sounding to me.

Atticus-Kotch In reply to Sheshin [2009-02-21 16:53:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I got the game right when it came out so I was still pretty young. Maridia, Wrecked Ship, and Norfair all scared me a bit. I had no trouble with Tourian though. XD

I love that song, the way it builds up but never becomes too overbearing at any point.

Sheshin In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-02-22 04:35:37 +0000 UTC]

The one music that creeps me out is the mid boss music for the spore boss. Well that's what I always called him. It reminded me of the twilight zone. *shivers*
I love Norfair music...well the one that was played when you got closer to Ridley...with that good beat going on.

I always thought that guy had cool music. Strange how he got his own music though.

Ah, Norfair. Aside from running in fear of ridiculously powerful enemies, I had good times there. And the music was pretty sweet there too. XD
