Description Quite simply, one of the older wooden passenger cars used by Valdeen on its branchlines. I think Gunslinger's neat armored car got me into the passenger spirit.

I tried mixing some European and American design here, and I'm actually kinda surprised with the result. It's a single vestibule, open platform car, and when many of them make up a train they are almost always run so that the platform end of one car is coupled to the "blind" end of the next. The blind ends have no diaphragms anyway, so this arrangement makes it -relatively- safe to pass between cars while the train is moving-- but then, the trains that these cars are run in rarely go that fast anyway. These are a common sight behind Class Ds.

this made my day
a book I liked as a kid had a train of open vestibule cars that were articulated together having one vestibule between two cars and I always was looking for a way it might work

Interesting, really interesting.

BTW, ever know anything about British-style coaches with two open-platformed vestibules, one front would have a ladder, and the other doesn't.
How is it possible, I ask?

And about these kind of coaches, you might find it on some Goldloks FastLane train set as well.

Anyway, nice looking coach.

Glad you like my car. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking regarding the British coach. Nor am I even familiar with the car-- perhaps you could post a photo of it?

I'm sorry to say this, but despite looking like it has only one platform and has a ladder, this is pretty much all I found.

Ah. Yes. That's a toy. It's probably broken.

Indeed.

Typical Chinese-made toy trains, bleh.

If that coach has three massive windows in the rear it could be an observation coach in the end of a train.

Haha, I was actually thinking the same thing! I figured that some of these could be refurnished that way and then stuck onto the back of an all-steel train, as a kind of parlor-obsevation...

looks like some of the stuff we use on WOLF. I love wooden passinger cars with vestibules and diaphrams. were slowly pashing out the open plastfroms though.

Yeah, I'm also a fan of vestibuled wooden cars... they still run them reguarly on the Conway Scenic, actually! But this time around I figured I'd save the vestibles for the steel cars. The open platforms gave a sort of "old world" look that I just couldn't resist. XD
