In a professional setting, Alec is the perfect businessman. He's friendly, he's informative, he'll give you a tour around the (rather small) Floating Isle Fishery and won't even glare if you decide that today's not the day you want to take one of his boats out onto the lake. To his workers he's a fair boss, not too harsh, maybe a little too lenient, but he knows who's supposed to do what and when they were supposed to do it by. He keeps the whole operation afloat.

Meet him after hours though, and you've got a slightly different kind of guy on your hands. Contrary to his gregarious professional appearances, Alec really does find it tiring to deal with people for hours on end. He was homeschooled, for Goddess's sake! He never really knew other kids growing up, and interaction with other residents of Toffee Town usually happened in front of his stand, where he could don his Happy Salesman mask and make them laugh and leave with a packet of fish under their arm. He never got any real experience in genuine interaction, and it's made it harder for him to open up to other people; he's learned to deflect heart-to-heart questions with teasing remarks or lukewarm professionalism. It's an unfortunate state he's found himself in, but hey, he figures the problem will probably solve itself. Probably

History:
Although technically not a native resident of Toffee Town, Alec arrived on the train with his parents at the tender age of three, and thus considers this dear, dilapidated town his home. His parents were both hybrids who worked as researchers in the city, but as the years wore on they both grew tired of the buzz and bustle of urban life, and decided to request a few years away to conduct a study on fish living in the remote Lemon Lake in Toffee Town. It was approved, and the small family of shark hybrids moved out to the country.

Growing up around the lake gave Alec more than enough things to do while his parents caught fish and conducted their research. His days consisted of waking up, eating breakfast, swimming for most of the day, coming in for lunch and lessons (taught by whichever of his parents was free) and then going back out to swim and play until dinner. By the time he was walking instead of toddling, he was also helping his parents catch fish for their research, and became so good at it (little kids have way too much free time after all) that he decided to set up his own little stand out by the lake shore, selling fresh fish like lemonade to the residents of Toffee Town. His parents, more than happy to assist their son in his endeavors, helped him grow his fish stand into a small lakeside fishing business, complete with supplies and rent-by-the-hour boats.

By this time Alec had grown into a fine young man, who was more than capable of running his business without the help of his parents. Good thing, too; a few months before his 19th birthday, his parents were finally ready to return to the city and present their research to the public. They of course were expecting Alec to return with them, but with a gentle smile, he declined. He'd much rather stay and continue with his own start up here in Toffee Town than "return" to an unknown city and attend a university whose lessons on succeeding and finding a job would be useless to him. Surprised, but approving, his parents accepted his request to stay and departed from Toffee Town within the week.

Alone now on the shore of Lemon Lake, Alec looked out over the still waters and smiled.

"Well then, let's get started."

Additional Info: - All the trashy comments he holds back during the day come flooding out in brooding mutters while he puts away fishing poles and cleans up the Fishery.
- He and Christa occasionally enjoy silence and cider together.
- He can be found in the library or just swimming in the lake on his days off
