Every year for Christmas, I draw my mom a picture of whatever she wants. This time around, she requested something involving donkeys.SO. It's a donkey :B
I'm sooo out of practice with colored pencil, this is the first time I've picked them up for a picture in like...forever. I experimented a little bit with this one, tried to go for a more "active", kiiinda impressionistic-sorta surface (i.e. the crosshatching) instead of trying to smooth out everything and get every detail, something my oil painting teacher taught me and that I liked. I think I like it better, but it makes the picture not so nice to look at up close, like on a computer monitor. It looks okay from a distance
Still plenty I could do this this, but I'm sick of fiddling, so here's the scan as is. GO GO LACK OF LIGHTSOURCE!

Your colored pencils work is so purdy! I luve the expression of the Donkey, he looks so peaceful and happy and I LOVVVVEEE the soft blue sky and wjdhwejk. Your talent. Give it to me!

Aw. That is adorable. I love the color style you chose for it... It kinda gives it more of a HAY MOM I DREW YOU A PICTURE IN CLASS 8D kind of picture that ends up on the fridge.

Your mum rocks for wanting a donkey. XD When I went to Greece, I fell in love with donkeys and when a painting vendor heard a friend and I discussing how I wanted a painting of a donkey, he dropped the price on this huge painting from something like 160 to 60 Euro or something big like that.

He's so cute! I think this sort of coloring/shading is really cool, way to experiment, man. Creativity relies on that sort of thing, I think. It was either that or sugar. -blink-
