Description
-> Upgraded ColorI feel like my style is evolving a lot. I recently looked at my gallery and I just didn't feel there was much to almost any of the images in there. It's pleasing that along with this has come an expansion of my skill.
You really have to jump on those photo ops, even if it makes you late, or you have to give something up... it's worth it. This image is the result of following that drive.
Props to ~FeatherMyth for help with the final look and feel of the image.

Hey Thanks so much. It's funny, because I've taken more clover pictures lately, and I feel I could really do much better than this right now. This one is a long time ago, but I've learned so much. Heh. Maybe I'll do it again.
Glad you like it though!

 It's hairy. LOL I didn't know that clover was hairy, but then I never saw one quite so close up. That's very charming! Too bad it's a bit blurry to the one side; if it were in focus with the rest I think it would look even cooler. Anyway, cool stuff!

Yeah, that's the trouble with macro lenses, I didn't have a tripod, so I couldn't stop down to compensate for the lack in depth of field. If you don't know much about cameras, it works like an eye, if you squint, things get sharper, i.e. the depth of field gets longer, but you need more light to get a bright picture.

This might be an odd observation, but for me, this "blue tear" is about our dying planet. The first thing I noticed is that little drop in the middle of that leaf strikes a resemblance to our planet, and the name, combined with the leaf, which to me represents nature, give it a powerful meaning.

Cropping a bit of right side can help with that distracting strip. It will also change composition (some people are against central composition), so you have 2 in 1.
Gray area looks a bit strange- what's that? o.O
Image is simple but nice

I really like this, it's simplistic and beautiful. The only criticism I'd have is that the lowest leaf has been cropped off.

Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you like it. It's funny that you mention that the lower leaf is cut off. In my development as a photographer, I've developed a recent movement toward breaking perfect form. I've found that there is beauty is having an 'imperfect image' the fact that the bottom is cut off leaves a bit of mystery to the image. What else would there be if it hadn't been cut off. It was a deliberate choice. I certainly appreciate your desire to see a perfect form though. Thanks for your input!

I would call the content delicate. It'd be easy to get disconnected from such simple nature image. But with the title and considering that I'm a nature person myself, this simple image evokes a whole network of sensations and meanings.
It's hard to summarize, but the image feels important and connected to something bigger.

i like your subject!it's plain and that's how it should stay in my opinion.too many details would destroy the feeling of this photo.if you'd like, you could make the leaves a little brighter green but i think that would be ok if you left them like that

From Gimmefeedback.
"Is it too simple?... Is it too complex?"
No. Often a good image shows the both in their mutual interdependence. There is a fair deal of that in your picture.
"How does it make you feel/land upon your taste or eyes."
On its tray, a forest pearl that cannot be picked. It speaks of majesty that no human throne can.

The simplicity of this makes it so very beautiful. And don't you DARE change the title! It's amazing, and totally adds to the piece.
This is a very serene peaceful photo for me. It makes me think of a meditative moment out in nature... Sort of like, "Stop and smell the roses", but better.

I think it's perfect. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw it was: "Awww! How cute!"
I won't be complaining about the title, because I just can't suggest anything better. If you think of any, change it.

Hi, I'm from gimme feedback. I have to say this is beautiful. It gives me a feeling of something precious. And I love the tittle, too, I know you didn't ask about it but I thought I'd give you my opinion if those other comments about it make you wonder about it. Really good work!

from *GimmeFeedback (and just because I watch you as well, amongst other things)
I have to respectfully disagree with the above comment. I find the title to fit it very well, and to be honest, evokes more emotion from me. Were it called something like "Dew Drop" I would probably just look at it and see it as it is... a dew droplet on a clover. "Blue Tear" immediately says to me this is not just a snap shot, but something the photographer connected with.

But I'd eliminate the black frame. It kinda doesn't work.

myxchemicalxkiss In reply to AureliusXII [2008-10-15 19:08:15 +0000 UTC]
Yea at least even it out. And maybe a black border and a thin white border right around the picture would do nicely. Or else you can barley see the black border.

I'd go for a more simple title, honestly. I'd this does not fit, at least for me.
And I think that the content in here is really stunning. Did you put that tear in there or was it mother nature?
If you want an overall opinion, I'd say this is precious.

from I think the content is really nice- it's a lovely and simple photo however I don't think the title really goes--at least to what it conveys to me. It seems it needs a title not too 'deep' if that makes any sense.
