I like the way you keep the dark entity mysterious even next to the cold, icy light. One tiny critique, if I may. From what I've seen these little one man jobs are dimly lit inside the cockpit - mostly colored light on the consoles. The pilot might look good backlit. Sorry, ye ole brain is just tossing ideas around. I'm really looking forward to the finished product. This is lovely work.

Lol this article! Very nice. Cute little pod and the water at the top is really impressive. Glowing things~!
It's nice with the undefined monster= unknown= fear but maybe suggest a bit more what it is, like with some alien body part or something. Oh are they all tiny worms..? xD Also if you had the sea floor fading off into the background the lake'd look bigger. Looks awesome though- can't wait to see the final.

I do really enjoy this! The only thing i have to say is that behind the lil submarine, it looks to plain, but I guess that is what makes the big black thing look so intimating. But I think you should add little monster fish, or actual normal fish, but keep the colors of them dark as they will distract the viewer from massive monster thing!

Very nice! This situation is definitely a sphincter tightener. That black shape really seems huge and menacing. No complaints here. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product.
