Finally, the very first scene type artwork of Felix during his lifetime in The Hall of Records 
During the events of The Hall of Records, Felix struggles to find a 'cure' to a curse placed on his soul many many lifetimes ago. The only problem, is that the magic was lost through time. Formally known as the Lost Arts, no one knows or remembers anything about it other than the fact that the Lost Arts hold more powerful spells than any living angel or demon knows today.
Very little is known about the soul curse itself other than it's title "Ezeru Shi" or, Cursed Soul. A cursed soul is doomed to live out a lifetime of pain in atonement for a wrongdoing to another soul. If more then one soul was wronged, and involved in the curse, another lifetime is added to the atonement until the karma has been equalized and then the soul itself dies, never to exist again. It shows it's mark as a 'scar' on the soul through the body, generally in the form of white hair, pale eyes and a design on the back which stems from energy points along the spine, growing with the curse itself. The spell is one of the few remnants of the Lost Arts
No one knows how many lifetimes Felix has suffered through but everyone knows it is his last. Despite being an energetic soul, it's hard not to be depressed about that.
Not my best work but I was trying to go for a really strong mood and I think I captured it a little. I tried to go with a speed-paint while drawing this but I have a bad habit of wanting to go straight into details so it'll take me a while lol.

Ah, this throws light on the character a little more. Nice to know, now I understand it better. As well as the title of the first book.
Yeah. That's Karma. Like it is.
I like the dark colours used and the whole scenery. It's somewhat peaceful and calm (more like: silent) but also depressed and sad. When ignoring the text and story and looking at the artwork itself, one wonders what he's suffering from. Maybe an unhappy love affair? Loneliness? These two came up first in my mind.
