You have the same weather as up north in Scotland...our climate gets warmer the lowe you are in England, I am mid south, south East, so pretty much wet and cold, with a little bit of sunshine
in the summer, I can't even imagine how big this world is, but all I can say is thanks god fo the internet,we would of missed out on so many amazing places, and some amazing people....

It was fun to take pictures of while it lasted. Wish I had spent more time on them but it was usually raining ice out there and you didn't dare venture under any trees as limbs were falling constantly.

Wow - that's incredible! Obviously I've never seen anything like that in my life! Could have been a What The Heck for us Aussies, but I guess most of you up there would know.

This is rare even for here. It takes some odd weather for it to happen.
Have to have one system that brings in real cold air that gets temps below freezing and usually snow, then a warmer system with lots of moisture moves in fast so they collide and the warmer one drops it's moisture in the form of rain but by the time it hits the ground it either has frozen (freezing rain) or it instantly freezes when hitting anything because everything is already so cold. Basically everything gets coated in layers of ice which brings down branches, whole trees, power lines, cell towers, whatever can't hold up under the weight. I am thinking about setting up some sort of link for my dA friends (you) to be able to see some more pics.

They were amazing! Thank you so much for the information and fantastic pictures. Quite an education for me. Particularly that last one

And here? Tomorrow it's going to be 96.8°F and creeping up to 104°F by Friday ready for the children to go back to school after their long summer holidays just in time for the worst heat - as always.

The Australia Day massive fireworks display on Thursday evening will have that extreme heat. It's tranditional for people to go for a picnic lunch and secure their spots through the afternoon for the show. They'll be burned to crisp if they're not careful.

You are welcome! Yes I can be quite scientific though I still have not aligned my Martzelvanes.
Yes isn't it amazing how such a slender piece of nature can expand like that?

Oh 96 deg. sounds lovely about now!

Oh, your poor Martzelvanes - you really must attend to those as soon as!

I just Noted Mantha with a deviation from someone. Make sure she shows you Maybe I should have entered it to All-Four-One actually.

Imagine going from your weather straight to ours? You'd melt! Better come by ship to acclimatise on the way

Everything was encased like this, would go outside and listen to (and watch) tree branches snapping off then crashing to the ground and sometimes whole trees would come down. [link]
